Cool, I'll play em in more than a decade. No problem there.
I'm confused why this surprises anyone. The Insomniac Spider-Man games haven't made their way to Xbox, why would you expect this to?
... Because Sony actually owns the Spider-Man IP outright, whereas Disney owns (almost?) all other Marvel IPs.
Incorrect. Sony owns the Spider-Man IP movie rights, this is not the case for video games. Marvel's Avengers would not have been able to put him in the game if that were the case.
edit: Maybe wrong on the Marvel's Avengers game front as I forgot he was a playstation exclusive character for the game, but Sony still does not own ALL spider-man rights, but specifically movie rights.
They negotiated the exclusivity by threatening to not allow Spider-Man in the MCU after he had already appeared.
That's a long time. I plan on PC so it sounds like I'd be able to buy them, but sucks for anyone on s different platform.
I’ll be sure to play these if they release on PC and I’ll make sure not to pay a single cent.
Sure it’s your in house studio, keep it exclusive for 6 months or a year. But this latest bullshit?
I’ll stick to the Steam Deck 2, thanks.
GodDAMN that's a long time, lol.
