I like this part as well:

“I won the parent lottery, the education lottery, the country lottery,” LeBrun told Macleans. “It would be arrogant to say every piece of my ‘success’ was earned, when so much of it was received.”

Played well, this could be a free pass for all the other times the person is late.

Next time they are late they can put on the silver jacket, enter the classroom with a space related excuse:

  • Sorry, the traffic was awful on the asteroid belt
  • My comet was delayed
  • A gravitational anomaly threw me out of the solar system, it took me forever to come back
  • ....

The thing is, yes humans can do it with their eyes. But even with the giant amount of progressing power from the brain they are still not great at it.

So of the ultimate goal is to the minimum/cheapest to be almost as good as human then yes, optical sensors only are enough.

Of the goal is to prevent deaths and significantly reduce the number of accidents compared to then lidar is the best option.

I like the pinecil, usb-c powered soldering iron with temperature control. If you are not doing anything intensive any fast smartphone charger will power it.

It's great that school are surveiling kids.

Does it means that school will finally get an appointed psychologist that meets the kids regularly to check on their mental health ? This way if there is any sign of depression they can easily get some free counseling sessions ?

What do you mean "This is not how we do things here !" ?

I first read it as "Trump will retaliate to Poland's proposed bitch tax" and I thought that yeah, it's totally something that could have happened.

My router (makita) was supplied with a copying guide but the opening was too small.

I've look online but I could not managed to find the right size so I did what any sane person would do: print one

Edit: more pictures of the result a dinosaur shaped observation tower another picture of the observation tower with a kid standing on it

To be fair they were also using encrypted messaging to talk to each other like WhatsApp and Signal, they even show their mom how to use it which is extremely suspicious.

“All members of this group were particularly suspicious, only communicating with each other using encrypted applications, in particular Signal, and encrypting their computers and devices […].

when the DGSI [a French security agency charged with counter-espionage, counter-terrorism, countering cybercrime and surveillance of potentially threatening groups] has questioned Bastien about what he thinks of Macron. A photograph on his computer is mentioned, which according to them details the President's security arrangements for the July 14th parade. (...)

The device in question (an aerial photo taken from the press) is highlighted in such a way as to draw a dick. A dick.

The link is made with Bastien's passion for drones. The implication is that he could have used a drone to attack this dick-shaped device using explosives.
