Also, have a look at https://lemmyverse.net/communities?order=active and count the number of non-LW communities in the top 20

Ironically, !fediverse@lemmy.zip could also be an alternative to this community.

@coffeeadmin@lemmy.coffee , have you considered crossposting there?

Interstellar is only available on Android.

Piefed still doesn't have mobile apps.

I'm not that attached to Lemmy myself, but mobile apps are a deal breaker for a lot of users

Yes, that's it indeed!

Happy to help!

Just FYI, you'll see that the consensus over there is that consolidation is beneficial to a lot of topics, as you can see on the latest topics there

Maybe !history@mander.xyz could be added?

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/27182706

At the time of writing Summit for Lemmy should be completely open source.

After a lot of contemplation I've decided to open source the app. There are still some changes that probably need to happen before it can be considered "FOSS" but this is a huge step I think.

As I'm voiced my opinions on this previously, the main repository for Summit will not be to the public for PRs. If you encounter bugs or have any feature requests please continue to send them through the proper channels (ideally to this community).

Enjoy~~

TL;DR To make messaging on Reddit faster and more reliable, we’re replacing Private Messages (PMs) with Reddit Chat and inbox notifications. This transition is necessary to maintain and improve Reddit’s messaging infrastructure. We aim to make these changes with minimal disruption while improving the user experience.

Timeline: Starting at the end of March, we'll roll out these changes in phases over the next three months to ensure everything goes smoothly

Following up on this thread: https://lemm.ee/post/58774156?scrollToComments=true , which was used to announce people that we were moving (similar to https://lemmy.world/post/24312613)

General feedback was negative.

Lessons learned: find a way to notify only subscribers

An admin told me that if this kind of action os coordinated with the community instance admins, they could consider sending a mass direct message, which could then also target only subscribers.

This would require direct database access.

For context, the previous experience was https://lemmy.world/post/24312613

Feedback there was

thanks, I’m sure I only shitposted one time here about football’s cultural atmosphere or game theory/sportsmanship in general.

Thank you for the heads up folks

As a lemm.ee user myself, I approve of this.

I saw the automod tag everybody, and that’s a really nice solution you’ve come up with

I’m also not subscribing to the new one b/c I’m starting to get annoyed with the notion that communities need to be consolidated. That’s not a discussion for this post, though.
