because it doesn't matter. in a two-party system, there are only worse and better to choose from. the flavor can be discussed if better is chosen.

electricity companies in germany don't want nuclear energy. It's way too expensive. just look at france - you can't do it without massive subsidies. France however is another story as their electricity company is state-owned.

Well, yes. Thats the whole idea of grades. But since we are using this messed up system to sort people in "good" and "bad" at least grow a spine and sort them according to good and bad.
