Ngl I didn't notice it.

I'm not changing it. It still works.

Iirc Boaty McBoatface actually won. The people holding the contest quickly learned asking the Internet to name your boat is a bad idea. Just like when Taylor Swift did a survey for folks to name where she should have a concert and the vote was overwhelming at a school for dead children.

But to the boat people's credit, they named one of the life boats Boaty McBoatface.

This is one of the reasons why Lincoln was emphatic that the south had to draw first blood. That allowed him to set the war in motion.

The problem this time is that the fascists are in power and they have their hands on the levers. They are drawing first blood through their laws and executive orders.

At some point, liberals will have to fight back. I fear that more people will die before that happens

My question to Republicans is how the fuck are paid protesters any different than paid lobbyists?!

The way these things normally work is that a staffer makes the call and holds for the President. When all parties are ready, then the phone is passed onto him.

Then again, this is more of a one-on-one with your manager so probably had to stay on the call. Probably multitasked though.

Conservatives pull that out whenever they are about to go against Trump. They think their opinion will have more weight with other conservatives if they sound less political.

"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

It was never about law and order. It has always been about oppression.

This is why we need to completely tear down the GOP. The damage is done. The effort it takes to stand up the agency, to rebuild the connections, put together the people, have them move toward the mission...that takes years of effort.

Destroying it took days.

Everything the GOP is doing is about making the next person's job more difficult.

There is a book that I wish I could remember the title of because it deconstructs fascism. The goal isn't fascism but cronyism. The in group is a concentric circle that gets smaller and smaller as you reach the top. Once power is concentrated, you dole out power based on your influence with the person at the top.

But because the in group is so small, you are more likely to have coups. It's why fascism often doesn't stay in power long because someone more power hungry will come along.

Putin's days are numbered. He will be deposed either by his death or through a coup. He can only escape one of those.

I feel like matrix isn't a one-to-one replacement. It's a good slack replacement.

I haven't used matrix enough to know for sure but does it have the discord equivalent of servers?

The law will not be used the way you think.
