Title.

The situation is basically this:

  • NFS works, it's very fast, keeps the xattrs but if used without Kerberos it's not secure. If used with Kerberos it works, but has a ticket that expires and forces me to reenter the credentials frequently in order to use it. If there was a way to use NFS with Kerberos and save the credentials NFS would be the perfect solution.

  • Samba works fine too, also keeps the xattrs but I had some troubles with filenames (mainly with some special characters, emoji, etc). Besides, as both my server and my clients run Linux I prefer to avoid it if I have the choice.

  • sshfs would be the natural choice, not as fast as NFS but it's pretty secure, I already use it in most of my network shares but I just can't find a way to make it preserve the files xattrs.

Do you guys have any suggestions or maybe any other options that I might use?

Hello all,

A couple of questions about Cantata.

It hasn't been developed for a while now. Will it eventually just stop working or there's any way to at least port it to qt6, without new features, just keeping the basic functionality?

I have the habit of star most of the songs I listen to, so that it's become easier to, for example, create smart playlists. In the case I can use Cantata no more is it possible to export somehow this data? Let's say that it stops working and I switch to something else (say, Navidrome or some equivalent). Will I be able to export my preferences, stars, playlists, favorites, etc?

I believe I may have some issue with this phone... As I commented on another thread, it's been taking a long time to start every time I reboot it or turn it off and on. The animations when I switch apps also have been pretty slow (just to you have in mind, when I unlock it that 3 navigation buttoms in the bottom takes between 1 to 2 secs just to show up. And that same sluggish feeling when doing other tasks also. I've tried to swipe the cache partition a couple of weeks ago, but it didn't seem to work. The interesting part is that it wasn't that slow. As for the battery, yes, it wasn't unrestricted but I configured it that way as suggested by another user here.

I thought about doing a factory reset, but I have a couple of apps (banks, etc) that prevent me doing that...

Anyway, I've noticed that it isn't a Boost related issue and I don't want to bother you guys any further with possible Android issues in a no related community.

I do appreciate everyone's help.

Thanks for helping.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy A32. And now that I'm looking more closely to its behavior I noticed that it's not only Boost that does that.

Anyway, the funny part is that some apps (Sync for Lemmy being one of these) seems to never loose its state, no matter what I do.

It's a Samsung Galaxy A32. Would it qualify as older and/or lacking RAM? Now that I'm thinking of it it's been taking ages to start every time I turn it off or reboot...

Hey, thanks for the taking the time to help. I've done that but it apparently didn't work.

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 11 months ago

Not my case, I guess... I got a Samsung A32 and never modded it.

You know what? I think you may be right... Boost seems to reload each time I switch apps. But that's funny, because that behavior doesn't happen with Sync, for example. In order to test I'm using both (and a couple of other apps too). Each time I come back to Sync it's exactly in the point I left. When coming back to Boost I reloads and I go to the top of the posts.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I like using this app. That's why I'm asking if it already has the feature I need or, if not the case, if it could be implemented so that it becomes even better to use.

Hello, all. Does Boost has any option to save the position I'm currently in? It's pretty annoying when I'm reading some post, need to switch apps and when come back to Boost it just goes all up to the top again.

In fact I know it's possible because I've seen this feature in other Lemmy apps, so I imagined Boost already had and I was just missing some further configuration?

I second that. I've been using it for a couple of years, syncing calendars and address book with both my PC and my Android smartphone (using DavX) and never had any problems.

I've been using Obsidian for a while and syncing my notes using git but I'm looking for alternatives. Does this app support sync? May I use it on both my PC and my phone?

Maradona, empanadas and tango. Surely the best stuff Argentina ever produced. ๐Ÿ™‚

I usually copy the links of the attached files I want and then use the corresponding tool to download them (gallery-dl, yt-dlp, whatever).

I noticed that there's an option "Copy Permalink" on the menu. The thing is this option links to the post itself (something like https://lemmy.world/post/1631662, for example), which doesn't work when there are external files attached to the post (files from Reddit, Youtube, etc). So that I have to necessarily go the post and only then I'll have the desired link.

Would it be possible to add an option "Copy Link" to the menu which links to the attached data and not the permanent post? It would be much appreciated.
