Hey I've seen this one, it's a classic!

Bluey is absolutely amazing! But all the other shit that my daughter watches on repeat can fuck off. We always push to watch Bluey so at least everyone can enjoy what's on TV.

As a Ducati fan, I loved what I saw!

In our kitchen, we have had the Pixel Stand (2nd gen) and it generally worked for our "divided household" charging both a Pixel and iPhone 13 these past few years. That is until recently when my wife updated to an iPhone 16 Pro. Now the Pixel Stand only serves me, I'm assuming it has to do with the iPhone 16 being Qi 2 and her case having the magnetic circle that makes the Pixel Stand not happy to charge it.

So my question is looking for recommendations on a wireless charger that will happily charge both a Pixel 9 Pro and a iPhone 16 Pro, specifically from the community (as opposed to that other community that shall not be named)

Thanks, fam!

Flashback to the 970 debacle

I'm thinking of getting metal legs. It's a risky operation but it'll be worth it.

I'm betting that this is HP going to their investors to say "Look, we're doing the AI!"

We did have extended family on this trip, but she's so clingy with us because she's less familiar with them. When we were able to get away from her for 3ish hours one night, it was hard to relax because we just kept looking at the clock.

R.I.P.

His style and atmospheric setting in the games that I grew up with will always stick out as some of the best.

I identify with this soooo much. I was solo traveling back in 2016 and 2017 and was taking so many pictures. Then I had a kid in 2022, figured I'd get a fancy new 25mm f2 Zeiss as well to start documenting, but my phone has been my main camera these past few years. The saying goes, the best camera is the one that you have on you at the moment.

I appreciate the perspective. Good point about the car as well! I was more just hoping to air some grievances with a toddler who's been a home body this whole trip. I get it though, you have to meet them where they are. Just needed to vent after being frustrated at my lack of adventure these past few days.

Currently on vacation with our almost 3 years old daughter in Costa Rica. I feel like I haven't really gotten to explore this country as I usually like to on my own terms. The activities that we do find for her, often are a failure resulting in a melt down and she just wants to go back to the hotel. She doesn't even want to play on the beach or at the pool. This trip in Costa Rica she's been a complete home body, trips outside have been a melt down. So this leads me to the main question.

Does it get easier as they get older? Please tell me it gets easier...

We've done a fair bit of traveling with her already. Cabo when she was 10 months old, visiting family members in NY, MA and SC multiple times per year. She's a great flyer, so no worries there. But when we're at the destination, everything is very much centered and catered to her. I get it, she's a toddler.

Photography is a hobby of mine, but it's impossible to do any sort of composition with a camera while a wiggling child is hanging off my shoulder. We have grandparents traveling with us this trip, and they've sometimes been helpful for an hour or two but...man kids are a lot of work. I may need to work with my partner on building in a solo vacation for myself occasionally because traveling to new places with a kid kind of sucks.

Rant over.

In case anyone else was curious, yes, you can download a dump of Wikipedia - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Database_download

Yup, already done that and a few instructor based courses!

For those unaware, Miku baby cameras are now charging a monthly subscription for features that owners previously had access to such as remote access, live breathing monitor, nightly statistics, DVR of movement through the sleep. We originally paid $400 because it was advertised as a product that would not require a monthly subscription, and we've been using it that way for the past 14 months. As of this month, the only functionality that exists without a subscription is video monitoring, but only on your local network. Everything else requires you to pay.

Likely what led to this was due to the fact that they released a buggy firmware earlier this year that bricked everyone's cameras and they were on the hook to replace cameras. A few months after this they declared bankruptcy, only to be purchased by someone who has instituted the monthly subscription (rumors it's an investor of Miku trying to make their investment back).

I didn't get an email about this change, only saw some chatter on that other site about it. Anticipating this change, I blocked the app from updating on my Android phone and all apps from updating on our iPad. I know it was a long shot thinking that would work, betting that it would be a server side change as opposed to client side.

Looks like the change went live a day or so ago, people are pissed, however I still have access to features. Looks like the subscription block is a client side update based on the screen shots I've seen.

Long story short, how can I pull the .apk from my phone to distribute to others? Fuck this company.

EDIT: Figured it out, here's the update from May 2023 with features still intact - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sOOCY08j8nxvfXJd1SU7Kll-uMjiRftm/view?usp=drivesdk

EDIT 2 - I figure this company only has a few months left, we'll easily just transition to a cheap Ubiquiti camera that records on my local network. Fuck this remote recording approach.

Not sure what was alleged but right move by the rest of the band members.

Thank you baby Jesus!

I have two pi-holes on my home network, but I'm noticing that when I open links using Connect's built in browser, I'm being served display ads when I normally wouldn't be. When I open the links with an external browser no ads are displayed. Is the app using a hardcoded DNS server when making requests to the links? Is there a way to stop that so it instead uses the DNS server configured on my home network?

Yes I realize I could set up a DNS Masq rule. I just didn't like how the reporting ended up being I pi-holes dashboard.
