Thanks. They've since released a statement claiming it'll be back in full operation tomorrow so I hope that means I'll get to Australia...

Hoping my flights to and from Heathrow tomorrow won't get cancelled...

I'm pretty happy with Tidal so far; I tried Qobuz back when I was looking for an alternative to Spotify and I remember the Android app being borderline unusable. I might be misremembering things though.

No one should buy either of them IMO. These super cheap mobile devices are more or less e-waste from day one...

I kinda wanted a Pebble for a while, might as well get one now

when that’s the name of an Intel processor?

It's totally a reference to that, it has to pretty much... Why? Idk, nostalgia? Duo as in black and white maybe

I don't know if they can really do that since Gemini is just an LLM at its core. Maybe they could integrate Assistant functionality into Gemini on Android that's then triggered by certain keywords, but at that point why not just keep both Assistant and Gemini?

Gemini is hardly an uprade to Assistant, though. Gemini can't do any task automation (aka the one thing Google Assistant could do) because it's a LLM that most likely doesn't even 'know' that it's being run on a phone....

Oh, so climate change is god's doing? What a dick.

I always wondered why they can't just do a fucking Zoom meeting....

If I hadn't improved my mental health over the last few years I really think I would've offed myself already. It's so fucking depressing it's not even funny anymore.

Fuck around and find out

During high school I'd always hang around the class room after class to chat with the teachers; mostly because a large part of the other students were bullying me at the time and I wanted to avoid them/take my mind off of things.

Some time ago, I pulled this sticker off our old fridge before we got rid of it and put it onto my PC's side panel (don't ask me why, I guess I thought it looked cool). I don't exactly know where it came from or who put it there, although I suspect it was put there by a Australian relative that was visiting us a long time ago (the Murrumbidgee is a river in NSW, Australia).

Does anyone know the artist or name of this if it even has one? There's no obvious signature that I can see.

Feel free to remove if this isn't allowed.

I just wanna get to know people and maybe make a few friends. I've tried a bunch of servers over the years, both general and specific ones but it never really worked out I guess? (I'm a pretty awkward person to talk to, maybe that's why^^)

(Additional processing power provided by the Intel i486 DX)

I spilled some grape juice (about two table spoons worth or so) over my Model M about a week ago.

I immediately cleaned it up as best as I could, couldn't take it apart right away because I didn't have the correct tool. I didn't think much of it, honestly, because of how hardy the keyboard had been up to that point, and plugged it back in. The keystrokes were all over the place and some didn't register at all.

Anyway, today I took it apart, cleaned it more thoroughly after being away from home for a while and it seems to work fine now apart from the "7" key (non numlock) not registering at all and the space bar registering twice in one press occasionally.

I'm pretty sure there's some residue on the membrane messing with the input. How can I clear that without having to break all the rivets and doing a bolt/screw mod afterwards?

Reseating the ribbon cables didn't help.

Edit: It works perfectly now, I basically cleaned it as best as I could with 99% isopropyl and then left it to dry.

Allowing it to dry is the crucial part here. I've posted a picture of the now working keyboard on here if you're interested.

Their best album IMO

When switching into video mode from photo mode or vice versa the main lens' OIS kinda jolts it around which makes a rather loud click.

I'm on Android 14 and the latest Google Camera update.

Probably my favourite album cover, really sets the mood for the music as well
