This has been my experience as well. In the past friends and family were more reluctant to break away from whatever their default communication app was. These days most people are already familiar with the idea of using one thing to text, another to "message", and often more than that. I've had great success converting people to more secure platforms now that they understand the process.

Tech is a boogie man to many executypes. I've seen plenty of IT pros that were in over their head but smooth enough con men. If they keep coming up with things to throw money at/trim money out of convincingly they have long and successful careers.

Toto isn't going anywhere, he's essentially his own boss.

Horner isn't immune to scrutiny but it's hard to see him getting ousted unless it's something very bad with concrete evidence.

It isn't consistent in the US. Some landlords or properties include utilities in the price of rent, some don't. Some only include things like trash/water/sewer and it's up to you to source an electric/gas/internet provider.

Hasn't that been the strategy for several decades?

It sounds like you could use just about any modern portable and be satisfied.

I see you mentioned POTV devices in some other replies. Those are generally known to punch above their price point, offering excellent price to performance options. The Lobo is basically a value priced Crafty/Mighty+, with some options that even the name brand doesn't offer, like swappable batteries. I think you'd be quite happy with one.

If you'd rather go for more "premium" options the Crafty+ would also be a great choice, but some people find S&B heating to cause a tickle in the throat (the "Bickel tickle") they don't like. The Firewood and Angus lines are also well regarded and widely used.
