Don't know, I hate them bouncing on me and getting tangled in thing. Going to the gym or running or climbing/bouldering with wires is a recipie for getting your wire tabgled and ripped off you.

If youre just walking or sitting, sure, wire is not a hassle.

Also, hearing/seeing something at a PC and going somewhere without the need of stopping the video/music and still hearing (say, while you get smth from the kitchen) is very pratical.

And mine don't have wires.

Totally legit use case, but do not changes my answer, it is a still a not super common problem, even "old" cars (starting mid 2000) have BT.

There is still a lot of pre 2000 cars around, but still not enough for a company like FairPhone to even consider an AUX (imho)

Also, there are BT recicers that connect to an 3.5.Jack.

Downvoting, not a unpopular opinion. I have never ever heard anyone outside of lemmy/the other place complaint about the jack...

Actually, most people love BT buds.

I also suspect the whole jack thing is a "I am a special snowflake" thing.

Jack will never come back, too much space to apeace a fraction of the total users.

Could you not wrap it in thin foil to make a faraday cage? If done well it should prevent any signals for going in or out.

puts on thin foil hat

Well, I'd like to add, that most people do not use social media -almost interchangeable with internet for most folks- to interact with strangers in a reddit/discord/forum fashion... they just interact with people near them i.e. Instagram/facebook and so on.

Most people are in both of one of those and they are not going anywhere and not losing users, specially instagram.

Then you have things like twitter and tiktok, which are nor going anywhere anytime soon, yes lota of people went away from twitter, but those who stayed stayed for a reason (nazis and the hard right mostly)

So in summary, the internet, imho, at least for now, is staying right where it is.

Maybe reddit will fall, since the userbase was always more techy/quirky but they still seem to be doing fine, if your are ok with bots chatting with bots.
