I got him a peanut butter bone as a gift. My goldendoodle turns 2 next Friday, so I'm throwing both dogs a bday party at my parents' house this Saturday. I ordered a fancy dog cake from a dog bakery for the occasion lol.

She got to hang out in a pen beside other horses outside yesterday and it made me so happy.

She did get very upset with me for letting my friend's horses out before her. My friend is out of town and I offered to let his horses out for him so they could enjoy the nice weather. Sandy took offense to that.

She let me do all kinds of stuff with her mane for over an hour before she wanted to graze. She was content with me making her look fabulous while she watched the lesson horses get ridden.

She seems to really want to meet other horses, but people think she's unpredictable and crazy. That's far from the truth. She's just spunky, which is normal for her breed. Her socialization skills with people has improved tremendously since I started working with her. She'll let strangers pet her while she's in her stall and doesn't get scared of children.

Her actual owner paid her a visit yesterday and was absolutely beside herself over the state she is in. She said she's worried she won't be able to afford everything Sandy needs. I'm having someone give her my number so we can coordinate care costs. I can help out with everything aside from boarding fees, so I'm willing to take on vet bills and supplements and the farrier and stuff if her owner can do board.

I want Ms. Sandy Lou to have the best old age and I'm willing to spend my hard-earned money to give her that.

She is already chomping hay way better than she was. Apparently she was putting up so much of a fuss when the dentist was there, that she had to be sedated. But she got the treatment she needed.

She's 1000/10 best girl.

Her mane has gotten a little thicker and longer since she started her weight gain supplement, so hopefully I'll see some noticeable gain on her body soon! Girl needs her hips back!

I have been struggling with my mental health this week and seeing her really helped me. She seemed to pick up on it and was being extra playful and affectionate.

Such a good girl. :)

I'm giving her so many extra calories in the form of a supplement and treats and I'm not going to be doing any lunging or anything with her until she gains weight. We're just gonna hang out and enjoy each other. Maybe she'll let me braid her mane and tail someday lol.

She's lost a lot of weight this winter, which means she will be getting a weight gain supplement and I'll be bringing more bananas.

She was really excited to see me today and instead of letting me brush her, she would let me do a couple of brushes, then would trot away and give me a mischievous side eye.

I finally got to brush her when I took her into the grass to graze.

I sat on the bench in front of his stall and he didn't immediately start playing with my hair and I got confused. Turns out he was snoozing.

He's totally blind, but that doesn't stop him. He's constantly causing mischief. He ripped the religious head covering off of one the instructors and wouldn't give it back to her. I had to shield her with my coat while she wrestled with him because she can't let men other than her husband see her hair. We both laughed about the whole thing

I won't have any new Sandy pics for a couple of weeks. My dog was a goblin and ate toys and had to have surgery to get the toys out. :(

I'll be posting pics of other horses in the meantime. They're all great, but not as wonderful as Sandy lol.

Doc is the horse that I'm currently using for my lessons. He's kinda old, but still sound enough to ride. He likes to do an old man shuffle kinda walk and I have to constantly kick to get him to pick up his damn feet.

He is very affectionate and we have a game where we just push each other. He can tell if I'm in a bad mood and gets extra cuddly and playful on those days.

I have to get certifications as part of my job and because all of my coworkers and I keep failing these really hard tests, we aren't allow to study during downtime on the clock. We were told to study on our own time.

Getting certs is part of what is required for me to get bigger raises and get promoted and all that jazz. I don't want to use my personal time for this. None of the people who are in this predicament do.

I have a meeting in a few days to discuss goals and I need to figure out how to tell my boss that using my own time for work shit is unacceptable.

I really like this job other than this one aspect of it and I don't want to make anyone mad, but I need to express my boundaries and all that
