I really like the idea of containers, it def solves my problems of running multiple services in the host OS. I’d like to build my own containers to pull the few “bare metal” services I’ll have outside of docker. Anyway, I’ll keep podman in the back of my head.

One thing I’m already happy I did was create a docker directory and having sub directories keep all of my container volumes separate. Should make backing things up easier as well.

Docker compose. I had a plan to ease into docker, I slipped and fell in the fucking pool. So far I have AdGuard Home and Heimdall working. Some WireGuard variant is next, followed by moving grafana and Prometheus over.

So far so good…..internet blogs, videos, etc have been not great, seems things have changed since dropping the version in your yaml file. All in all, I think the direction I’m heading in is good. Time will tell.

OooOoOo, I’m a hiking/backpacking wizard! Let me tell you, I’ve been waiting for warmer weather to haul radio equipment to mountain peaks to play with. Meshtastic and NOAA sats to be specific.

Update to version 6 on two raspis has been less than stellar for me….Ive been running pihole a since the beginning. I don’t know why it wasn’t great.

I setup docker and AGH, first time for both. AGH has less setup for more features than pihole. I’m now using both AGH and Pihole; but as soon as I get a WireGuard container up, the pihole/pivpn is probably going to be history.

Oh, the other thing is I live in a very large city. I don’t have room for any antennas so everything has to be ultra portable. Ham radio doesn’t really fit in. Chatting on a local repeater (I don’t even like taking on the phone) isn’t appealing.

I hear what your saying, it’s just not practical for me beyond tinkering….and if I’m going to tinker, I have a world of radio (SDR) that doesn’t have a lot of infrastructure to transmit on….so being a ham does not do much for me.

I listen to the hams on my scanner and I’m not trying to take a test, buy a fancy radio just to shoot the shit….I have the whole internet in my pocket I can do that with.

I travel the US with my scanner and listen in….i just don’t see the appeal other than the electronics side of it, and there are other areas to learn about that.

I’d like to want my tech license, but I just don’t know why….sounds like a membership to the dork club, but I’m already in it, so I’m conflicted.

I don’t want to go sailing every time I want to watch a session. This is my only option.
