I’d wager it’s the multilevel dependency of countless prebuilt components when devs are only going to use a small fraction of their capabilities.

You know we’ve reached peak bloat and stupidity when JavaScript web apps have a compilation step, and I don’t mean JIT.

I think the epic songs and 4K textures are missing in my MS Office.

TBH Plex is years ahead on maturity, their dev team is excellent, unfortunately it seems like enshittification has begun for them.

Support Jellyfin not because it’s better, but because it’s open source and it puts users and tech first. Don’t expect it to beat Plex’s performance, quality, or cross-platform availability yet, but expect it to become better as more people donate or get involved.

To be honest, not even from the start was it a true democracy, the Electoral College is a layer on top of democracy to give different weight to each vote.

There are telltale signs of AI generation in images, much in the same way image editors leave fingerprints of its use. As image generation improves, its detection will too.

It’s not much different than the arms race of spam or malware, for example, tools like wasitai.com have a pretty good detection rate right now.

Earl Grey because of Picard, green tea because of anime, coffee because of my grandma, herbal infusions because mom only liked those.

I think my only individual beverage choice has been tepache, a mild fermentation of pineapple. It has a lot of sugar, so don’t drink it a lot.

Plot twist: A whistleblower denounces that Chiquita was the major Trump campaign supporter.

I don't know how to handle either one without actually getting equipment to handle them.

I understood hardware equipment too. What kind of equipment did you mean?

Unless it’s programming or sysadmin, I’m mediocre at all my hobbies, but I enjoy them a lot. It’s great not feeling pressured to do them professionally like a paid job.

I’ve tried to live a good life, and tried to be a good influence around me. My secret fear is suddenly dying in public, and farting like some corpses.

I want to be remembered as a good coworker or friend, etc., not as the guy who farted loudly after dying.

If it’s okay, would you explain why? Did you make your preparations in case of death, or are like “give your best shot, life”?
