Protip: add plain after the first three backticks of code block to prevent syntax highlighting

This is something I’ve wanted to do. I have some ideas. Unfortunately it would just operate per comment, not the entire thread.

In the next release long press the hide icon to toggle it.

Thanks, I found the issue with the quote color, should be comparable to iOS shortly.

It’s just Lemmy search results, nothing fancy

No, that’s not valid syntax in Lemmy, you can check by opening the comment in lemmy-ui and see it doesn’t render there either.

Hey, author of this site! 👋

It's not just longer videos, but GIFs encoded as video, often less than 500kb (webm) may have issues playing back without range support, especially on Safari IME.

If you have time at some point in the future and can look into range request support, I would appreciate it!

Nice! I can verify it working too.

It looks like it is working great through my test tool! thank you!

Introducing vger.social: A lemmy instance for Voyager supporters 💙

Hey there! Voyager for Lemmy dev here.

As I've been adding more mod and admin feature to Voyager, I've realized that self-hosting my own Lemmy instance may help me improve Lemmy moderation and administration in Voyager.

But I had another thought: Why not open up registration to Voyager supporters? It's a win-win: I get more real-world experience administrating a Lemmy instance, and Voyager supporters get a fun additional benefit!

Introducing https://vger.social :)

Q&A

  • Q: Who can sign up? A: Those who donate any amount on a monthly basis, or those who have contributed a few PRs to Voyager
  • Q: How do you track donations? A: It's the honor system.
  • Q: Will Voyager keep support for other Lemmy instances? A: Of course! Nothing is changing there, vger.social is just another Lemmy instance.
  • Q: Will vger.social work with other Lemmy apps? A: Absolutely! It's just a vanilla Lemmy instance.

Why use vger.social

  • Guaranteed compatibility with Voyager
  • Low user count = snag a better username
  • It's well-federated, including https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/piracy
  • General purpose instance hosted on US East Coast (potentially a pro or con for you, but faster response times for users in USA than lemmy.world)
  • Rules against bigotry, hate and harassment (see sidebar)
  • Hopefully better stability against any future influx of Lemmy users, compared to larger Lemmy instances
  • Star Trek fans welcome I guess lol

Quick disclaimer

While I hope this instance is around for the long run, it is new, and therefore still experimental. If vger.social does shut down, I will give everyone at least 60 days notice.
