The farm has been in her family for generations but has struggled over the past several years amid the rising cost of fuel, fertilizer and other operating expenses. [...] Since taking over the family farm in 2019 [...]

While I fully admit running a farm is a massive endeavor, the fact that the farm started having persistent issues shortly after she took over indicates to me that at least part of the problem is poor management.

“The American worker doesn’t like labor, they don’t like to do laborious jobs,” Carlson said. “They don’t want to do the hard labor, and that’s what’s frustrating, because we would love to hire U.S. workers, but we can’t get them to show up. We can’t get them to follow through. We can’t get them to finish the season.”

The American worker is perfectly happy to perform laborious jobs - just not at the rate you're willing to pay them. It's called "acting your wage".

Lol - longest necro I've had was someone who came back with a comment like three and a half years later, so you're fine! And thank you for the compliment! :)

If you scream, you're a fraudster and don't deserve the money; if you don't scream, we won't know about it to reinstate it and you probably didn't need it anyway. Either way, we win!

I swear, this sounds like dunking witches 'logic' ....

Trump administration lawyers have determined that an 18th-century wartime law the president has invoked to deport suspected members of a Venezuelan gang allows federal agents to enter homes without a warrant, according to people familiar with internal discussions.

His order took aim at Venezuelan citizens 14 or older who belong to the Tren de Aragua gang, and who are not naturalized or lawful permanent residents. “All such alien enemies, wherever found within any territory subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, are subject to summary apprehension,” the proclamation said.

Senior lawyers at the Justice Department view that language, combined with the historical use of the law, to mean that the government does not need a warrant to enter a home or premises to search for people believed to be members of that gang, according to two officials familiar with the new policy.

If she's not going out now, fighting and making the case against and rallying the troops against Trump and fascism now, I'm not interested in her.

Maybe 4? I was on kbin, then signed up on two mbin instances when Ernest had to leave. And I have one account on a random instance because I needed to PM someone over there and it was the only way to do so.

I mean, I hate everything about RFK and his actions, but surely the US pharmaceutical business has enough money to invest in an exciting new and very lucrative new technology ....

We had reliable information years ago that they only kept the previous version of a comment. So if you edited a comment, then re-edited it, your original version would be lost. It's why so many of us overwrote our original comments before deleting them.

I don't doubt that Trump wants something like this, but do we have a better source than Doug Ford?

Just think of it as a mood ring for rich people. The rich people aren't feeling any pain and they're happy to pick up stuff that they want when others want to/are forced to sell.
