Hangover in a nutshell

It's painful how I struggle to distinguish reality from parody.

I read it. Without a doubt, they're expressing the second. It explains how the community is disgusted by the doctor's conduct during this emergency and the other medical professionals expressed alarm towards Kennedy's endorsement of the situation.

I don't think that's how that works. Historically, peace rarely gets results. Do you think the end of the holocaust came about through peaceful protest? French or American revolution? The hands off protest was marked 3rd largest in US history by Wikipedia and nothing has changed. Black lives matter protests were arguably ineffective considering we elected Trump again. We see time and time again that armed conservatives and police forces freely obtain what they want so much to the point that their most desperate members felt comfortable enough to storm the Capitol and they got pardoned. I think the mindset to advocate for peace isn't one that aligns with results. We see the results. I don't like violence, but I know they'd love to inflict violence against me.

It's a threat to the poors. You hurt the rich, you'll be treated the same.

The reality is that it is hard to quit, but even addicts who haven't even tried will tell you that. I think it should be encouraged.

No, no... they're onto something.

The problem I see is in popular works of fiction, the scenarios seem too specific. Racism, rape, torture, whatever... they all start to come off as weird sorts of validation, wish fulfillment, or cheap shock content. Instead of satisfying a role in the plot, it subtracts from the immersion because you're wondering if the author is into vore or whatever.

I think it's good to have an outlet for these sorts of things. I just think it's less about freedom of expression and more and audience reach, i.e., they didn't get dark because it limits the demographic.

I've tried my hardest to use Linux but gave up. I want to like it, but the hurdle is too high to get everyone on board. At the end of the day, the computer is a tool. Maybe a hand made walking stick is better than a manufactured one - someone who is not versed in the ergonomics and construction of walking sticks is going to opt for the stick that enables them to walk today. I use computers enough to see learning Linux as an investment, it's just not something I have time for today.

I'm at my first office job. A lot of people seem to eminate of the same forced positivity I saw during college. I don't want to isolate myself, but I can't see myself making connections.
