He already backed down, 2 or 3 times. If he wanted 0 for 0 he could have negotiated first like a reasonable person with intelligence would do. He made a threat, it failed and Trump backed down. It is not really any harder to understand than that.

Who cares? Huge turnouts, huge donations... No one turns up to vote. It does literally no good to vote heavy one cycle only to give it up the next cycle.

Donald Trump is pausing it because that's what Putin wants and with Trump and Maga wanting to forever remain in power it would make Putin's job a lot easier to rig our elections to keep his American cronies in power. Putin runs the U. S. There is no doubt but our current administration must have at least a small shred of denial in case this goes south before MAGA can eliminate the constitution and the constraints it puts on the government.

Trump plays the long game! He absolutely negotiated as he puts it "a very bad deal" six years ago with Canada and Mexico so he could come back and stick it to them now. The brilliance, the genius behind it is mind boggling. It just goes and shows everyone how petty and greedy Canada and Mexico are for retaliating because they just hate Trump.

The SC will probably amend it to say president elects or prior presidents enjoy lifetime immunity. Hell they will probably go as far to say direct relatives will enjoy immunity
