it's possible, with the GDP we have right now, for every single american to afford a home. Americans have been propagandized into thinking that we need a billionaire class, that they need bailouts and tax cuts and no oversight, that they should be able to get away with murder in the courts, more than they need a safe place to rest their heads at night. My heart is broken for them. I wish everyone were as angry as me.

@[email protected] I believe Lemmy.world web (which you can access on your phone via Firefox) is styled so that upvotes look like hearts. This can vary depending on custom styles in different communities, eg. if you viewed the same post from my instance the upvotes are styled as carrots. If you're not logged in, you won't have the ability to upvote, but you will still see the number of upvotes each comment has---> this may be why you don't have the option to "heart" a comment, try logging in first. Also, it's possible the post was locked by a moderator so no one can upvote.

Most space stations feels the same.

I found a pirate station which had a different layout, that was fun. Are there more of these "different types" ?

Does this change later in the game? I'm looking for steep elevation changes, changes in light/sunlight, temperature, or oceans. A planet with ice caps would be cool. It feels like every planet has the same gravity and day/night cycle, etc.

What service can I use to ask questions about my database of blog posts? "Tell me everything you know about Grideon, my fictional character" etc

For LGBTQ+ folks who want to blend in, what tips or advice can you give?

I was disappointed, honestly, it felt like one long dragonball z fight. People constantly getting punched into walls, nobody ever gets a lasting injury

When Maria gets angry and kills her father she should have died. Her dragon is a manifestation of rage and hatred, something that she couldn't control. It should have consumed her. That would have been perfectly fitting for the universe of Castlevania. I love her character but they missed a great opportunity there.

I'm in year 2, have 13 bars, a couple of purple sprinklers. I'm thinking of saving up for the desert totem. is there a better use? should I upgrade my pick

@[email protected] appears to think so.

In the above thread, I suggest that artifacts of evolutionary development are purposeless and that suggestions to the contrary are intelligent design. I'm met with the common hostility.

But what interests me is the justification for it:

Claiming I was suggesting intelligent design when I obviously wasn't is a pretty dickish thing to say, so...

FlyingSquid feels entitled to hurt other people when certain conditions are met. Eye for an Eye has been a staple of justice systems of less developed cultures and despite the advancements of modern technology and modern thought, some apologists still exist today.

I find it interesting that people who have been hurt (by something as innocuous as a perceived slight to the ego, no less!) are willing to pass that pain on to other people rather than allow it to end.

I'm open to using GIMP or a web-based online tool

I'd like to take a source image and posterize it, but instead of letting the application pick the resulting colors, I'd like to pick them manually. So for every pixel, the app would change the color to one of my chosen colors

A coworker asks what you're bringing to the potluck. What's the worst response?

In the image example, I'm logged into my instance. I learn about another instance and want to find out what communities are on it. The search feature does nothing here. Am I typing it wrong? Is there a better alternative for exploring new communities while logged into my instance?
