They either enjoy the feelings of power over others, or it makes them feel good and they don't even bother thinking of others in the first place. Be it general abuse, sexual assault, or even killing and eating, cruelty is done for personal gain.

Playing an instrument, it's something I think everyone should try to learn to do at some point. It's mentally stimulating, it's creative, and it can be a lot of fun. You don't have to be good at it to be good enough for you to enjoy.
