Thanks! Tired of removing the tracking "?si=" parameter from YT links

ETA: Fun clip, nonetheless. "Smoothness over clarity", huh.

Thanks for the nuanced response. Obviously both FP and LTT are defending their own interests and neither are inherently better.

Interesting are all the points you share. I've never been so convinced to try a game even after being explicitly told it'll not be fun. Give me that sweet pain.

The UI is what I dislike most, but Itàlia not awful. I'm guessing that lossless music has better quality? Deezer offered something similar and I didn't get what was the pro. I don't think my ear is trained enough to notice a difference (until I listen them both b2b, maybe then I will).

I'll forever be skeptical of a degoogled OS that runs only on phones engineered by Google.

At the end of 2022, I discovered this software that I've been using all year. I'd like to hear your thoughts or experiences with GnuCash, or whatever system/program you use to track your personal finances!

For the ones unfamiliar, it's based on a double-entry accounting system; every transaction always has at least two accounts involved. Example: if I spend 200 SEK on a restaurant, it goes from Assets:Cash to Expenses:Food.

Starting by creating my own accounts, it helped me immensely to have an overview of my general financial situation.

Around March, I found enlightening to re-define what expenses needed their own category from what I was unconsciously lumping into 'others'. Having it all already logged, made it quite easy . The caveat is that all the entries are manual, but my finances are not as complex, so with 30-45 minutes a week I have it updated.

You can even create diagrams for your monthly expenses, or general balance, among other reports that come quite handy if you want to run a query.

This is basically the P=NP problem! 🤔💀

Yeah, you can easily assess whether things are going ok at any moment, but it's hard as fuck to know how to make things ok from scratch.

Exactly! That, and I can tweak my writing to see if it conveys what I want. I cannot just hit ctrl+z when I'm talking.

Most times I feel I'm having these galaxy-brain thoughts but they come across as pea-brain sentences when trying to articulate them (how long is long enough for a rant/explanation?). Going meta has also not gone well for me. By that I mean discussing about how we're discussing the topic at hand. It seems to be shrugged off as a tangent or distraction, when I believe it's a good baseline for the current and future conversations I might have with the person.

Discourse online is better suited for the exchanges I like to have with others (such as the folks on this very thread), because arguments can be better fleshed out and people are less afraid to share their rationale. Ideas and perspectives can clash, but it's not necessarily bad. Just like peer review in science papers.

Exactly! Now I'm sad/disappointed the threads will be drowned with commands.

Yes, it's neat to have these tools but it doesn't actually provide anything to the discussion at hand.

On Liftoff it's needed to be logged in on every instance (it handles multiple accounts), so I don't find it convenient even though I admire how polished the interface is.

Is it just me, or are these links not linking?

Hello all ✌️

I just downloaded the app and, must say, it's incredibly smooth; definitely a polished UI !

The issue is, even after having logged in (on lemmy.ml), I can't interact (upvote, comment, etc.) with content from any other instance. I get a "This thread was retrieved via inst.ance. You are not logged in there." message. Isn't the idea of the fediverse that I can interact with other instances even if I'm not registered in them? Is anyone else facing the same situation?

I have no trouble doing the same in other apps. Actually, as this community is on lemmy.world, this post had to be written using Connect.

How can this be fixed? Thanks in advance for your comments!
