Been doing this with strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries for the last year or so. Works pretty well!

Buy a loading tool. Basic 3d printed block to push down the follower, even. Makes things much easier

Yes. Can be much faster than clicking/selecting, but more importantly they can be scripted so it's easy to repeat an action
