Afterward it’s not significant.

Sorry, but unfortunately, it is, forcing a instance to sync literally every single post made on the lemmyverse.

It is a significant difference if an instance has to federate literally every post made on the lemmyverse.

Hosting an instance myself, I'm not amused, because if forces my instance to literally sync all content there is on the lemmyverse, drastically increasing traffic, storage use etc.

Please don't force resource consumption beyond any rational usage!

I rented Populous for SNES as a kid but they didn’t have a manual so that was a pretty tough one to figure out.

Same for me, on the Amiga500, especially finding out how hero-raids and Armageddon work ^^

Played the crap out of Maniac Mansion but didn’t realize it was before the PC point and click craze

Got it on the C64, did you find out all five possible endings?
I freaked out finding the fuel for the chainsaw in Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders ;)

some genre pioneers

  • M.U.L.E. (Multiplayer Strategy)
  • ELITE (3D space sim)
  • Populous (Godmode RTS)
  • Maniac Mansion (Point & Click)

inferno

While I do understand not using googles or metas framework, I wonder why they chose such an unpopular one, and not smth. like vuejs

we’ll be pushing to expedite the process of developing some of the necessary tools.

Yes, please. The mod-tools are pretty basic, if existent.

Back then, when you wanted some new games you could:

  • buy them (over expensive)
  • trade some on cassette tapes at the schoolyard
  • Go to the library, grab some source code books, have fun programming them

Wrote my own text-adventure when I was 10, since then I came across Basic, Turbo Pascal, JS, Java, AS, Lua, Python, C++, maybe some more 😵‍💫
