Although...this is some sort of spat relating to pronouns, and as I recall, isn't that guy's thing referring to himself using the third person?
The spat is unrelated to pronouns or neopronouns, according to the 196 mods. It has to do with the Blahaj admins and the 196 mods disagreeing on moderation behavior for the community, and the 196 mods not wanting to have their own moderation decisions reversed or second-guessed by admins if there wasn't a rule violation in how the 196 mods handled moderation.
Thanks for these responses. I hope everyone reaches a satisfactory resolution to this. I don't like to see communities or instances infighting, but I suppose it's just part of us growing as a platform.

I suppose that's dependent on what you want to look at. I still find the platform wholly engaging, and overall more diverse, though I feel the front page has become a bit dominated by polarizing opinions, but we do feel to be on a crappy slice of our timeline right now, so I can't totally fault people for that.
This particular scenario is a little inappropriate to say this is us maturing as a platform, but it's definitely...a thing that is happening...

Which is an instance rules violation and not the mods' decision on whether to action?
The story you're telling seems very relevant to pronouns and gender if your personal history is included.

You're right, drag misremembered there being a ban. It was actually just post locks and comment removals by Ada when you said that queerphobic stuff the mods wouldn't remove.

The locked post isn't even on Blahaj. The removed comment, that I was leaving because of disagreements with the admins but acknowledged their right to make such decisions, was hilariously petty in the vein of Ada removing posts (and handing out bans) for people saying things like "Dragons aren't real". Nor am I at any point defended by the 196 mods.
You very deliberately said you don't acknowledge drag's gender, and in the same comment acknowledged that your view isn't welcome on Blahaj. How is it petty for an admin to enforce the rules you knew and admitted you were breaking?

Serious question. Why not just block the fucker of dragons and move on? That's what I did months ago and it has not negatively affected me at all.
Honestly, at the time, I hadn't interacted with Drag at all for months, and Drag had been banned from 196 by then anyway, and 196 was the vast majority of my Blahaj activity. For me, it was just that I didn't feel comfortable staying in an instance that was going to hand out bans and remove comments to ensure the existence of dragons wasn't questioned. I 'got' the underlying logic of it, but didn't feel comfortable sticking around for an instance that was going to go to bat for someone who literally and verbatim repeated the old conservative "Attack Helicopter" canard.
This thread is the first time I've interacted with Drag since, I believe.

I didn’t ask you about a grammer expert’s take on this issue, I asked you about a queer theorist’s take on this issue. Please do listen to people when you’re talking to people, if nothing else than to avoid simple blunders such as these.
The rest of the world will go by what is grammatically and linguistically accurate. Alternate choices of pronouns fall into this as they are well within the narrative of how our system of communication is laid out. If someone chooses to use nouns as pronouns, that will be their choice. No one can tell them they can’t do this-
But asking everyone they speak with to defy everything they know about the language they speak just to appease them, is absurd. Which is why anyone right in their mind will default to the assumption that they’re a troll. Because it’s nonsense.
Also, something I noticed… you seemingly ONLY appear in defense of “drag” and rarely discuss anything outside of that. “Drag” opted to walk away from the district when you showed up…

Ah. Well, that seems like a shitty excuse. They’re public servants, they chose this role, they should just be made to deal with that. If they don’t want to have to deal with rules preventing them from abusing their fellow users, they shouldn’t be mods and should just spend their free time playing video games instead. They remind me of cop characters on police procedural tv shows that are mad that liberal politicians won’t let them commit brutality against and trample all over the civil rights of the citizens they’re supposed to be protecting

Not being a transphobe is really simple. Someone tells you “Hello, nice to meet you! I identify as ____, my pronouns are /.” If you respect their self-identity and chosen pronouns, then congratulations, you’re not a transphobe! You all failed this test. You all failed it hard. There’s been one transgender individual in this entire drama. Dragon Rider. Dragon Rider has been repeatedly been referred to as a guy and with the pronouns he/him, despite constantly stressing that drag is non-binary and uses drag/dragself pronouns. Including val, someone you did not correct in this very conversation. Drag has been called a troll for defending dragself for months on end now. If I was one of the trans people your side of this argument was supposedly trying to protect, I would be very scared for my safety on this website.
