Not cheating! Boosting/account sharing.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Whatever you want to call it, it's inherently dishonest to take credit for skills you don't have and achievements you didn't earn.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (2 children)

No one is arguing that it isn't dishonest. NO ONE.

I'm just arguing that cheating is a different thing than boosting/account sharing. I'm not even arguing which is worse. I sometimes wonder if people can even read. I just corrected the terminology and BAM 14 dislikes. SO dumb.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It is cheating. I'm not sure what this weird take is. He used means that are against the rules of play to become statistically better than other players and rise in the ranks. Boosting and account sharing are against the rules. it is cheating.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Cheating would be if he used external software to modify the game state/gained knowledge about the game state he wasn't supposed to have.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Other things beyond that can also be cheating. That is one kind of cheating but other things can be cheating as well.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

When I hear that someone cheated in a videogame I think about using external software. When I hear that someone boosted in a videogame I think about account sharing. Maybe that's just me, idk.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

From my perspective, cheating would also include account sharing. Would they give me the title for eating the most hot dogs in 15 minutes if I let 10 of my friends help me?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's irrelevant to the overall point and comes across as a defense of Musk by attacking an irrelevant piece of semantics.

For example if people are arguing about pineapple on pizza and you say "pineapple is food so it's ok on pizza" it's not addressing the actual arguments being made.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (2 children)

If you think I'm defending him for boosting and account sharing - you are simply wrong. I just want the facts to be correct. Maybe it's going over peoples heads cause I'm autistic (I think) or something idk.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Regardless of your intent, the context in which you make a statement matters. You were wondering why people were down voting you so I'm just letting you know. You don't have to like it but that's the way it is.

I get being frustrated at people misunderstanding you, happens to everyone, just don't stress over the imaginary Internet points.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Ok, so you claim you think you are autistic. That's fair, reading posts can be as hard as being in a room with unfamiliar people who have inside jokes or use sarcasm alot.

So perhaps then you should listen to what everyone here is telling you: boosting and account sharing is a form of cheating, recognised by the platforms he runs those games on. Elon did that, denied he was doing it. And got caught.

Elon cheated.

No Elon didn't cheat by using the Konami code or downloading an aim not or mod or anything like that. He cheated by boosting and account sharing.

You are getting down votes for two reasons here: you are wrong (he did cheat, it's how that you seem worried about) and you are defending one of the shittiest people to currently exist on the planet.

Those are the facts. Hope that helps.

Do you need me to define "defend"? Or are you just that clueless?

Google can help with the first problem. Noone can help you with the second.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yes. Please tell me how I am defending him by saying that he boosted and accounted shared in PoE 2.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Gosh you are hopeless. I'm so sorry.

Maybe your mommy has time to explain it to you?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Please tell me how I am defending him by saying that he boosted and accounted shared in PoE 2.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

"Not cheating!" -you in your first post.

You know when you avoid doing something, cause you know it's stupid and pointless? Like it won't matter if you do it so why do it? But then some annoying little turd keeps bringing it up. And now it's more work to ignore them than it would be to do the thing.

And then you go to do the thing and it takes .5 seconds cause that's how dumb the guy is. Then you end up enjoying taking the time and wishing you'd done it the first time?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Why yall disliking this? Have I said something that is not factual or something?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yes, you are trying to be pedantic by pointing out that account boosting is not cheating. But it is cheating so not only are you being pedantic, you are wrong .

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Here's what ChatGPT says (and I fully agree with it):

In PoE 2, cheating involves breaking rules with unauthorized tools or exploits, while boosting is getting help from stronger players. Boosting isn’t cheating unless it involves exploits or paid services that violate the game’s rules.

Boosting isn’t cheating unless it involves exploits or paid services that violate the game’s rules.

So you agree that paying someone to boost your account is cheating?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I believe ChatGPT was referring to buying cheating software when it said "paid services". It may have lost that part of the response when I forced it to condense it into 2 sentences.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

You can't even get the idiot AI to agree with you on this, but you're still going for it. And that thing will agree with whatever you tell it if you argue long enough.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Alright, you won cheating = boosting. Are you happy now?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

He was boosting and account sharing. We don't have the evidence that he was cheating. Both bad. Just not the same thing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

SIKE! You didn't win! I still believe cheating is different than boosting.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

i downvoted because your semantics, while technically truthful, are dishonest to the spirit of the accusation

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Well, I wasn't trying to be dishonest. I just like my facts correct. If that makes you happy, downvote all you want.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (2 children)

The users on this site are so cooked. Mans is getting downvoted for using the correct terminology lol.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

sarcasm doesn’t work well in text… that’s why we have /s

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

And even then... Sometimes it doesn't work haha

Not everyone who has a different perspective from you is a troll, buddy.
