Halting foreign aid to Ukraine would make this blood shed end faster.

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 23 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You mean because Putin would move on to shedding the blood of the people in Ukraine who wouldn't support his puppet leader and then he'd move on to shedding the blood of other innocent people when he invaded other countries? Doesn't sound like something us sane people want, sorry. Maybe we can make the blood shed end by making Putin leave Ukraine instead, yeah that sounds good.

Can you see the oil burning from where you live?

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (3 children)

Russian expansionism slippery slope argument.

Maybe we can make the blood shed end by making Putin leave Ukraine instead, yeah that sounds good

This will never happen, sorry.

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 19 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You don't seem sorry, but maybe you're light headed from choking on fumes, and not just an entity who supports a dictator, like you seem.

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

You don’t seem sorry

Got that right.

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 7 points 6 days ago

You ended this fast! Maybe you can learn :)

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 10 points 6 days ago (1 children)

This will never happen, sorry.

Uh... Chechnya? Georgia? 2014 Ukraine?

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

I think you meant to refer to my statement of: "Russian expansionism slippery slope argument", right? Hope I am not mistaken.

Chechnya

After Russian defeat in 1st Chechnya, Chechnya proceeded to invade Dagestan in 1999.

Georgia

You mean the war that the EU stated Georgia start?

It has been like 17 years since Russo-Georgian war that ended in Russian victory and there were no further invasion of Georgia afterwards.

2014 Ukraine?

You mean when the pro-Maidan movement conducted a false flag operation where pro-maidan snipers shot their own protestors in order to incite public backlash against Yanukovych? With this, they proceeded to overthrow Yanukovych’s government and then proceeded to attack anti-Maidan movement in the Donbas. Russia proceeded to conduct an air assault on Crimea as according to them, they made an agreement with the legitimate government of Ukraine before Maidan to continue their lease over Sevastapol. Russia stated that the formation of this illegitimate government threatened military infrastructure in Crimea which they rightfully owned due to an agreement with the previous government. Russia also named the crackdowns that were being conducted in Eastern Ukraine as a reason they needed to safeguard the lives of people in Crimea.

Proof of false flag:

Video appendix A

100 witness testimonies

Testimonies from 52 wounded victims

Over 80 witness testimonies showing that the fire came from Maidan-controlled buildings

Video footage showing that it was indeed Maidan supporters who committed the massacre

A mere portion of the evidence.

There are several hundred witness testimonies including wounded protestors, 2,000 videos, 6,000 photos, and 30 gigabytes of radio intercepts that proves it was a false flag operation.

The Maidan Movement overthrew the semi-democratic government of Ukraine, then proceeded to crack down on the anti-Maidan movement sparking a civil war:

Here is the Mariupol Victory Day Massacre:

Krasnoarmiysk incident where Ukrainian army open fire at the sky and into the crowd:

With the help of GRU war criminal Girkin, the anti-maidan movement did not collapse allowing Russia to introduce further troops into Ukraine on August 2014 in order to support separatists which led to a victory over the Ukrainians resulting in Minsk which both sides violated which resulted in Minsk II which Zelenskyy failed to implement. Zelenskyy’s failure to implement Minsk and attempts to join NATO more or less is what started the 2022 war.

TLDR: It was not just Putin waking up in the morning and then thinking to himself, “seems like beautiful day to invade random country”.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The fact that Russia is the size that it is is the result of centuries of Russian expansionism.

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

Damn near every country is at its current size cause of centuries of expansionism.

[–] Jimbabwe@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Why stop there? Lots of victims can be victimized faster and with less bloodshed if we all just turn away and let it happen. What an amazing idea! Next stop, Utopia!

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

There wouldn’t have been any victims without Maidan Coup and even with Maidan Coup had Zelenskyy not give into the demands of right wing neo-Nazis by refusing to implement Minsk.

[–] Jimbabwe@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yeah I’m not clicking your stupid link. Your words are poison.

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

It was just the jolly good words of former British PM Boris Johnson himself.

You can always just use https://liveuamap.com/en/2019/26-october-president-of-ukraine-zelensky-has-visited-disengaging to see the Azovite neo-Nazis confront Zelenskyy, these neo-Nazis sabotaged the peace initiative with their “No to Capitulation” campaign.

Boris is the biggest liar in British political history by a country mile, and his nonsense takes on the past to justify his actions mean nothing. To Boris, thinking about whether a statement is true or not before using it for political ends is an insane waste of time and effort and needlessly hampers your argument.

So to anyone who is in the last bit familiar about how Boris operates, quoting him to try to establish what's true is like asking a random number generator what your age is. I mean, it might be right, but the fact that it's the random number generator that said it is a pathetically weak argument.

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Boris is the biggest liar in British political history by a country mile

No doubt, see Brexit.

I suggest reading this.

Ah yes, a website I've never heard of before. Much more convincing. /s.

I mean, how convinced are you by the evidence "someone wrote it on a webpage you never heard of"?

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

How much time and effort do you spend on promoting Russian talking points in an average day or week?

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

So Ukrainian state media is Russian propaganda now?

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

No, you are. Keep up.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Come on, your Putin is a little pussy. All those nukes and no balls to use them. Go on show the world your balls, little pussytin.

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Why conduct such a massive escalation? I am sorry but the best you will get is the usage of Oreshnik MIRVs.

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I gotta agree, has gone on far too long and continuing to pump in money and weapons is only getting people killed. at this point it's probably only making the outcome worse by dragging it out

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 6 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Handing Czechoslovakia to Hitler sure spared a lot of lives, didn't it?

Perhaps you could give a single historical example where an aggressor stopped due to appeasement?

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Worked pretty well for Georgia.

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 2 points 5 days ago

It's not appeasement, it's diplomacy. the kind of wars that don't end with diplomacy are the ones where we all end up dead as a result.
