This might actually be a good thing. Canada sells 4.4 million barrels of oil to the US every day, so trading with them is business as usual. I would guess this is part of an effort to get the tariffs dropped. All these governors are in red states who could influence Trump, and their stated goal is to keep energy affordable, not slap an unjustified tax on it.
Harper just wants to keep the GOP happy, so he tells Smith what to do, then Saskatchewan’s DUI hire follows suit.
