Since being diagnosed with ADHD I finally accepted that all the common advice for sleeping doesn't work on me. If I get stuck in hyper focus a bit of phone time can break it long enough to switch off.
In a pinch, flipping the pillow to the cool side and getting up to pee has been helpful for my ADHD ass.
Being neurodivergent in general has meant that basically all the "common sense" personal advice doesn't apply to me I've learned
"Struggling to be productive? Just remove all distractions!" Nope, doesn't work, never worked. In fact it makes it worse
"Struggling to sleep? Just try XYZ and keep a regular sleep schedule!", nope, do my own thing, works better
"Struggling with burnout/exhaustion? You need to go and do things!" Nope, that will make it worse
And so on and so on
