"Seattle cops have just activated their new 24/7 citywide AI surveillance camera network."

Welcome! This is a community for all those who are interested in protecting their privacy.
PS: Don't be a smartass and try to game the system, we'll know if you're breaking the rules when we see it!
Some of these are only vaguely related, but great communities.
At least now we know that everyone in Seattle is safe π€‘
I know it's sarcasm, but it's genuinely chilling how much Seattle is pretending to care about people while targeting the exact same people
And from the linked article, Seattle Must Repeal Mass Surveillance Expansion To Protect People from Trump:
"How can we keep ~~the wealthy~~ society safe if we don't know what you're doing at all times?"
/s
I don't think we will ever hit critical mass on this issue IMHO
Normie is too dense to see the class war, I gave zero hope them seeing for what this before it is too late.
With that being said this is part of the class war, a very important battle we are losing within larger context. They know what they need to have in place in order to keep that boot on our necks at all times.
Defund the police helped get Eric Adams elected.
Working class gets fucked over time unless they do something. And they kinda do it to themselves since bad faith factors always seem to be able to mobilize useful idiots
so people in the CID should just accept a ridiculous amount of violent crime in their neighborhood?
I'm confused.
I value privacy. but if I lived on north aurora I'd want them to reduce the streetwalkers and violence. not sure how to do that without putting hundreds more cops on the streets, sans the cameras...
now the issues I have come down to SPD viewing surveillance as an alternative to actually enforcing the laws. or SPOG figuring out a way to grift more overtime from it.
I get it, I fucking despise trump too, but just saying "federal law enforcement will have access to this local law enforcement tool so it has to go away" seems dubious from the premise.
What ridiculous amount of crime are you alluding to? It's been going down over the past several decades, not up.
But if you must call for more of something, why not just call for more boots on the ground in those minority neighborhoods? That always turns out well.
And why would you assume a surveillance panopticon would only be used for good purposes?
pfft dude where do you live? get fucked if you want to stick your head in the sand and act like nothing bad is happening. one example:

Have you never been to aurora? really? jfc... I'm beginning to think you're some shill who's never even been to seattle.

sure thing shill.
go back to the suburbs you toolbag
how long must i have lived downtown in order to have an opinion?
27.3 picoeras, or 1.24 yottamoments
it's so fucking cute that you think it's only two crimes.
goddamn. you really hate asians huh?
I don't doubt hate crimes are increasing,
I do doubt that crime in general is increasing. I do doubt that intensive and automated surveillance is anywhere remotely close to helpful. I do doubt that relying on law enforcement, which is usually on the side of the hateful, are the right custodians of mass surveillance, let alone given discretion to use violence in response to it.
no more cops and no surveillance - you just figure the crimes will stop themselves.
that's a new kind of stupid.
i believe some of thema re using googles AI, or thiels palintir in some form or another.
