I think it's important to downvote them and even make them feel unwelcome. You can't let Nazis and white supremacists in your communities because any community that doesn't kick out Nazis will eventually find itself overrun by Nazis fleeing communities that kick them out.

You don't need to argue or make a fuss, but make sure to downvote anyone who doesn't believe all people are born equal and that people have a right to choose what to do and who to love.

People downvote me all the time and I just think "well they're wrong, I've laid out my argument and they can't refute it". So I imagine Nazis feel the same way when you downvote them.

Edit: case in point

Imagine being able to justify yourself by finding commonality with Nazis.

That's.... not what they are saying. They are critiquing the strategy. If nazzis and I agree 1+1 makes 2 that doesn't mean we're all Nazzis.

I don't understand why so many struggle with addressing the message and are so eager to shoot the messenger. It's weird but really common on Lemmy.

Using one example to make the rule is bad logic.

We aren't allowed to critique strategy or work together to better ourselves or our plans with outside views that allow us to see and adjust to match an ever changing world...

That would be so bad for my social media feed. The algorithm would have to completely relearn what I like and that would be a hassle.

He means that the nazis wont give a samb about the downvotes and that it would be better to be clear to their faces.

That’s what I thought I was doing.

.ml hmmmm

Edit: Actually with the age of your account that probably doesn't mean much

Maybe,,, I dunno.... some self reflection to understand WHY people downvote you all the time, might improve something about you?

I just scrolled my post history and picked an example. Like why is this downvoted? It's literally just an answer to OP on how to do what they want https://lemmy.ml/comment/18043111

You have roughly the same amount of downvotes as OP, based on context folks were probably reflexively downvoting because it’s an AI discussion.

On top of that, I think we should be clear about what we don't like. Right wing isn't itself evil, but low rung right wing ideology will send us back to the dark ages. As would low rung left wing ideology. We must strive to be better, entertaining only high rung ideas in conversation, in order to elevate our collective understanding
