This topic is pretty touchy for a whole lot of people. And one of the first things to go when shit gets....heated... reading and listening comprehension and uptake.

That said? Even though they assumed you were saying something you weren't, they have a valid point that needs repeating because for some reason people look at what DGE(fuck the O that's not how those work) is doing, and how fucked everything is getting down south, and go:
It's not the idea, it's the implementation that's flawed, we can do it properly!
Or they are happy to see our democracy burn for the sake of the Christofascist ethnostate they dream about, knowing that when everyone else is gassed they'll still be fine because they're the "right type of person!"
