No, they need to carry a firearm. When stopped by ICE:
ICE is made up of cowards and police wannabes, if the job gets to dangerous most will tap out and go back to yelling at 12 years olds on CoD Modern Warfare.
Pretty sure they count international airports as borders, so within 100 miles of them too.
They may try and count airports ... but that isn't how it's actually written. In the end they are border agents and don't need to be interacting with US citizens on a normal basis.
