This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
Posting Guidelines
All posts should follow this basic structure:
- Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
- What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
- Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
- Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
- Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.
Rules
- Post only about bans or other sanctions that you have received from a mod or admin.
- Don’t use private communications to prove your point. We can’t verify them and they can be faked easily.
- Don’t deobfuscate mod names from the modlog with admin powers.
- Don’t harass mods or brigade comms. Don’t word your posts in a way that would trigger such harassment and brigades.
- Do not downvote posts if you think they deserved it. Use the comment votes (see below) for that.
- You can post about power trippin’ in any social media, not just lemmy. Feel free to post about reddit or a forum etc.
- If you are the accused PTB, while you are welcome to respond, please do so within the relevant post.
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.

Some acronyms you might see.
- PTB - Power-Tripping Bastard: The commenter agrees with you this was a PTB mod.
- YDI - You Deserved It: The commenter thinks you deserved that mod action.
- YDM new - You Deserved More: The commenter thinks you got off too lightly.
- BPR - Bait-Provoked Reaction: That mod probably overreacted in charged situation, or due to being baited.
- CLM - Clueless Mod: The mod probably just doesn't understand how their software works.

I was speaking to rule 3, which is consistent. The irony I alluded to is that ACAB is usually associated with people who think that, in some cases, it is legitimate to use violence against the state, whom the police serve.
Of course it's consistent. If someone argues for murdering someone, and I see it, either organically or because it got reported, I have and will remove that comment.
The only inconsistency is in what I can personally see. I'm not omniscient, which is why the report functionality is so important.
Are there calls to violence that don't get removed? Of course there are, we can't be everywhere and if nobody reports them, there's a fair chance we won't see them.
What I'll never do is the bullshit reddit does where they lock a thread because it gets too many reports. That's just fucking moderation cowardice. I'd rather individually remove 100 infringing comments than lock the whole thread.
It isn't consistent, you treat women completely differently than men. I have been treated extremely unfairly by you. I have tried to communicate that with you. I assume you have dick issues and thats why you hate women.
On the internet, nobody knows who you are unless you tell them. I don't deliver special treatment to anyone based on gender.

I banned you in Politics for repeatedly spreading misinformation, as I have done many others, with no knowledge of their gender identity.
You think you get to determine if you are sexist or not? You think removing comments from a feminist and a sexist arguing, is being fair to women? Why do you think reputable sources are misinformation? Which sources SPECIFICALLY in that post was misinformation?

Yeah I linked that itt and clearly stated that - I am upset about (2) separate issues. I want my comments (feminist) reinstated still, which imo was why you were searching for a reason to ban me and chose to call me a hysterical crazy woman with the "tinfoil hat" thing. You also brought up the woman eating salad thing, laughed at me, said I wasnt a priority (okay, then what exactly is a priority for a MOD, you dick), and generally treated me the same way a sexist PoS would about my concerns regarding feminism previously and now.
And it wasnt a conspiracy (the ban), I literally cited a documentary with John McCain and Hillary Clinton, NBC, journalists, the treasury department, NPR, etc. None of it is a “tinfoil hat conspiracy theory” - or is Clinton a conspiracy theorist? Tell me which sources exactly were not okay? What specifically was wrong with what I said? If you tell me a conspiracy, I can refute it by at least pointing out specific examples. What specifically did I say that is a "conspiracy theory?" Why can't you tell me that? I linked the post. You permabanned me for it, you can't take the time to tell me why? Exactly WHICH SOURCE regarding elections was inappropriate? The treasury department? Greg Palast? Which one?
Any "source" that suggests voting machines are connected to the internet and are therfore hackable is suspect. That is a patently false allegation that you made REPEATEDLY.

It was an assurance designed to bolster public confidence in the way America votes: Voting machines “are not connected to the internet.”
But that is an overstatement, according to a team of 10 independent cybersecurity experts who specialize in voting systems and elections. While the voting machines themselves are not designed to be online, the larger voting systems in many states end up there, putting the voting process at risk.
“We found over 35 [voting systems] had been left online and we’re still continuing to find more,” Kevin Skoglund, a senior technical advisor at the election security advocacy group National Election Defense Coalition, told NBC News.
“We kept hearing from election officials that voting machines were never on the internet,” he said. “And we knew that wasn’t true. And so we set out to try and find the voting machines to see if we could find them on the internet, and especially the back-end systems that voting machines in the precinct were connecting to to report their results.”
The three largest voting manufacturing companies — Election Systems &Software, Dominion Voting Systems and Hart InterCivic — have acknowledged they all put modems in some of their tabulators and scanners. The reason? So that unofficial election results can more quickly be relayed to the public. Those modems connect to cell phone networks, which, in turn, are connected to the internet.
The largest manufacturer of voting machines, ES&S, told NBC News their systems are protected by firewalls and are not on the “public internet.” But both Skoglund and Andrew Appel, a Princeton computer science professor and expert on elections, said such firewalls can and have been breached.

Election technology expert Kevin Skoglund, who also signed the letter, said a federal probe was necessary because many of those involved have not been investigated or been asked to give up their copies of the election software.
“Every software copy that is reclaimed reduces the risks of further distribution, disinformation and harm to the security of future elections,” Skoglund said. “There should be consequences for widely sharing parts of our national critical infrastructure or others will be encouraged to repeat these schemes.”
