Nah, I think they took a strategic L there to scare others from unionizing. It's likely unfeasible to close too many warehouses in Canada and still be able to make money. If they do, their costs are going up, shipping would get worse and they're likely to lose market share to Canadian or othet American competitors operating here.
I would say good let Amazon close up and leave Canada, Canadians at this moment will be more likely to look for Canadian alternatives.
Agreed. Amazon isn't a net benefit for Canada. It extracts profits from Canada and ships them out. They're not available to fund local economies. I'm afraid Walmart could fill some of the void but some would alsp go local.
It has been about a year since I was last in a Walmart, I have only started boycotting Walmart in January though, I hear that many of them are just husks of what they used to be though.
I meant Walmart in the online marketplace context.
