I just got banned from [email protected], which seems to be the biggest Linux community out there.

For context, it was about the recent Vaxerski incident, where I shared my personal opinion about the whole gender stuff. I wasn't even trying to be hurtful against anyone, just shared my 2 cents in an already ongoing conversation.

Sure, ine might not agree with my opinion, and I don't agree with others, and this is totally normal. But at least we should be able to have sane and respectful conversations where no one is insulting each other, or anyone else... without having a mod intervening into the conversation

So to all the mods out there: Your personal opinion does not give you the right to delete comments and block users, just because their opinions don't align with yours!

I neither know you nor your content, but let's presume that what you posted was percieved as an utter garbage position to have. Yeah, that's what downvotes are for.

But a ban? Those aren't for people whos opinions you disagree with. Those are for cleaning up after people who intentionally tris to stir up something.

That's exactly my point, but it looks like my comment was considered "transphobic" which goes against the CoD... so that's reasonable.

What's not reasonable is the interpretation of "transphobic", which leaves a lot of room for.

Most of the time transphobic comments are pretty clear cut including yours.

Well, if it's against the rules, then it might justify a ban. I'm not going to argue against rules in general, and interpretations thereof.
