Websites are an already dying medium, most interactions on Meta's services happen on smarphones, reddit is nudging its users to download the App. and most dating websites have died while Apps developped by refuse to offer a web version.

They've been doing this for years. But people know there are better options. Now they removed the better options entirely. Old Reddit is the last holdout of a good UX but I've no doubt it'll be gone soon.

Companies have been pushing apps since apps were a thing, what 10-15 years ago. It's nothing new.
Facebooks platforms are app based and have been for a long time. Are dating sites a canary for the internet industry or something?

You're a little late to be warning about the sky falling down when it isn't and hasn't been for over a decade.
