Do you guys know about DietPi? I use it on two Raspberry Pi, just installed it on a Wyse mini-PC and I think it's really great:

Truly Optimised
DietPi is an extremely lightweight Debian OS, highly optimised for minimal CPU and RAM resource usage, ensuring your SBC always runs at its maximum potential.

Simple interface
DietPi programs use lightweight Whiptail menus. Spend less time staring at the command line, more time enjoying your Pi.

DietPi-Software
Quickly and easily install popular software "ready to run" and optimised for your system. Only the software you need is installed.

DietPi-Config
Quickly and effortlessly customise your device's hardware and software settings for your needs, including network connection and localisation setup.

DietPi-Backup
Quickly and easily backup or restore your DietPi system.

Logging System Choices
You decide how much logging you need. Get a performance boost with DietPi-RAMlog, or, rsyslog and logrotate for log critical servers.

DietPi-Services Control
Control which installed software has higher or lower priority levels: nice, affinity, policy scheduler and more.

DietPi-Update System
DietPi automatically checks for updates and informs you when they are available. Update instantly, without having to write a new image.

DietPi-Automation
Allows you to completely automate a DietPi installation with no user input. Simply by configuring dietpi.txt before powering on.

Legumes are the best! Let's share some easy meals. I eat pasta with canned baby broad beans once a week. Here's the recipe:

BABY BROAD BEANS SAUCE
Pasta sauce or spread
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp neutral oil
  • 2 onions
  • 1 smoked tofu, diced
  • 1 jar of broad beans
  • 2 tablespoons of tahini
  • 1 dash of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable stock powder
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Optional: More vegetables, like strips of white cabbage, diced carrots or green bush beans

Instructions:

  1. Add oil, fry the onion well, add the smoked tofu. Add broad beans including the water and bring to boil.
  2. Maybe add more vegetables.
  3. Stir in the tahini, soy sauce and vegetable stock powder and you're done.
  4. You can blend everything into a paste or simply mash a few beans with a fork or masher to make the sauce even creamier. Then serve as a pasta sauce or even as a sandwich spread.

I was a Why don't you fucking protest!?-guy here on Lemmy and I am not, anymore. It takes time to organize. This is beautiful, I'm proud of you. Keep it up!

I use LineageOS with MicroG on my phone. If I quickly press the Power On/Off-button repeatedly it plays an alarm and dials a call for help. This is probably in all android versions, I don't know.
I know biometric unlocking is dangerous, because it can be forced. But it's incredible convenient 99,99% of the time. Wouldn't it be rather easy to implement an option to switch off biometric unlocking when doing the emergency clicking? Or is there already another option? I'm sure I'm not the first genius to think about it.

Are you telling me that Jeffrey Bezos is INTENTIONALLY attracting billions of customers with cheap stuff and then starts closing down his ecosystem? Why would he do that?!

So Google decided to swap out batteries for free on Pixel 4a phones. I have two of them running LineageOS without Google, but I'd really like some fresh batteries. But I don't know if Google will accept my phone. Did anyone already try to get the free replacement? How did you do it and how did it work?

Wait, rainbow capitalism wasn't sincere?
I left the Amazon ecosystem a couple of years ago because fuck Bezos and it wasn't a big deal, really. Accumulating stuff is a mindset I could reason myself out of. I call it the power of No, thank you. I buy mostly second hand now and it's so calming. Saves me money as well.

I'm not going to write a full review here but I really enjoyed it. It looks incredible, had strong Solarpunk and Half-Earth implications. It's emotional yet honest and mature. Animals look and act great as well. You should watch it.

Maybe smartphones and social media are a problem here. Running around buttnaked with penises drawn to you face isn't that fun anymore, if everyone can take a picture/video that might haunt you for decades. It's self-surveillance.

Mal sehen was da kommt. :)

EDIT 2:

Sehr geehrter Teppichbrand,

Never meet your idols.
I seriously stopped being a fan of any public figure because people seeking public attention are mostly off-putting at least. Then come the narcissists and psychopaths, it gets only worse.

Keep posting them, but we should just copy the text and link to the source instead of screenshooting a couple of sentences like my mom, no? This would save some disk space and power consumption as well.

Was wird mich da erwarten?

Yeah, he is an idiot. But can we please stop this anti-fandom and just ignore the guy. Hating a celebrity is so much wasted energy!
