On my last mission, I encountered a purple questionmark on the map. It was a 3D object. However, I don't know if the rest of the team could see it as well, as it was right before extraction.
Have you ever encountered something like that?
I believe that is a broken texture. Try verifying your game files.

I've seen that a few times, each time when a friend loaded onto the super destroyer. In all cases it appeared to be a missing model or texture for one of their weapons.
Might be coincidental, but I haven't seen this since I started verifying game files after every patch. The H2 patch process has (or maybe had) a bad habit of leaving a couple corrupted files after patching.
I've had this before. Three of use saw purple questions, the last saw whatever the texture wa supposed to be (weapon I think)
It's funny if it happens as someone's weapon or backpack. Then it just follows them around.
