Or even if you should, I don’t want you to.

"Are you okay?"

Me, seconds from dying: "Yeah, don't worry about it"

I still remember when my sister was sick as a kid and my dad asked her if she was going to puke because she looked like she was. She got half way through saying "no" when she abruptly projectile vomited all over him.

I get shit from my kids about this.

My grandfather (Sit Tibi Terra Levis) told us not to worry and that he was alright when he started using a cane all of a sudden, that he was just 'sore'.

He later found out that he had a cancer tumor that shattered his thigh bone. He was walking on it with nothing but a cane and grit. Tough old guy, gods love him, but it's okay to not be okay.

It's a lesson I'm still trying to learn, myself.

Why did I read each of those in my head differently?

[–] MutilationWave@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Because you're an English speaking human? Fine.

I'm Fine = Fuck off and stop reminding me how fucked my life is

Ha! What a coincidence, my household is currently rewatching House.

The mysterious cosmic attraction of memes! :p

It's a pretty good series.

It's that Baader-Meinhof thing I was just reading about.

Any idea what this is from? I'm always down for some new Hugh Laurie shows.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I think this is from one of the early seasons of House.

I don't think it's an early season of House. If I'm correct, I think it's season 7 episode 16. He was staying in a hotel and binging on drugs, pleasure and women. This clip from YouTube is from the episode. https://youtu.be/lEO2D2MLMOo

Not 100% sure your screenshot is from this episode, but I'm pretty sure. I'll start my 5th house rewatch and get back to you in a few months and let you know the exact episode lol

He looks young enough for it to be House but I'm not used to seeing him in a bathrobe. Out of curiosity I just had a look at his post-House shows and he has one called Chance where he plays a forensic neuropsychiatrist. Seems like the show focuses more on one character and her life rather than him solving medical cases though, but I thought I'd stumbled onto House 2 for a second.

House M.D. Season 7. Love the show, myself, I put it on for a rewatch while working every couple years. The medical stuff ranges from really interesting to utter nonsense, but the character writing is pretty great, throughout.

And for most of the time that'll do.
