**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

MODERATORS

Reddit's automod thing says I threatened violence and harm and. I dunno? But I recall effectivly advocating against harm in the subs where discussion was going on. However It's funny. The morning after I remind folk that 'oh hey the corporate platforms, including reddit, will try to stifle discussion of altenritives' I eat a ban wit ha YOU WERE INCITING VIOLENCE AGAINST PEOPLE warning.

...As I said.

They would not fear us, if we could not harm them.

You're not the only one. I got a perma ban talking about protesting for insighting violence as well. Talk about anything political all and you're a violent person i guess 🀷

Same, but it was a blessing in disguise because I'm here now and don't miss reddit one little bit, fuck 'em.

I’ve had this exact same thing happen to me. Just minutes after I mentioned lemmy, I got a warning for supposedly threatening violence in a totally different post. I deleted my account of 13 years as a consequence. Not gonna play this game.

Eh, I have spent about a year on Lemmy and I have seen way, way more calls of direct violence and inciting violence here in the last few months on Lemmy than I ever saw in multiple years on Reddit. If I had known how Lemmy would turn out, I wouldn't have come here. It was cool in the beginning when the people were still nice, but Lemmy users have become so aggressive lately. I can see why someone might consider Lemmy a platform that incites violence, the users give plenty of ammo for that.

I think you got hit with a wrong timing thing. Almost like poking a hornets nest, you might have thought you were being helpful or whatever, but things are so volatile there that it wasn't the right time.

Don't you feel that there is a time in place for calls for violence? Shit is fucked and people are upset. On reddit there are 1000x more calls to violence but the people are banned. At least Lemmy has different places where people can express their rage. Most Lemmy communities will ban calls to violence.

Yes, some people only understand violence, there is no reasoning with them. Push people far enough and some bad things may happen.

You, uh, you think what's happening in the world might have some effect on all this, or nah?

[–] aegis_sum@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

You don't have to use Lemmy.

What communities are you talking about? I'm subscribed to many dozens here, and I can't remember ever seeing calls for violence in the Lemmysphere.

While I'm quite neutral about the topic, we should work out a non-violent method of eating the rich, I guess.

Name one time in history the ruling class has stepped down willingly?

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

I'm pretty awful in history, so I couldn't, even if there was one in the first place. But the above was just because the user didn't feel like there was significant amount of calls for violence on Lemmy, while every single day you'll eventually run into the 'let's eat the rich' like (which obviously isn't that serious, and I find it hilarious).

You point is best illustrated by how reddit vs. Lemmy treated the murder of that insurance guy

[–] Blaze@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Not sure why you are trying to defend Reddit on a platform where most of the people came because they were unhappy with Reddit.

[–] Mickey7@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

How am I defending reddit. I made an observation. Is my comment untrue?

[–] Tregetour@lemdro.id 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Nah, they're optimizing for the most flanderized LLM training input possible, thus banning by keyword. Countless posts in this community (indeed years of anecdotes across the web) are indicating a trend. I wouldn't be suprised if the likes of knife, fist, smash, etc. start triggering bans

Don't fuck around with Reddit, it's become an unchecked consent-manufacturing machine masquerading as a web 2.0 forum and if you consistently speak your mind on there it's only a matter of time until you get on some power-hungry moderator or admin's shitlist with zero means to communicate or reciprocate. Save yourself the grief and leave it to die, it's become literally what federated sites were created to make obsolete.
