Why do it comfortably over an 8 hour work day when I could fuck off for 6 hours plus lunch and then cram it all into the last hour driven by adrenaline?

Just experienced this, was blown away. Thought productivity would be rewarded
Your time is their money. Capitalism is powerful because you live on the scraps of what you make while giving most everything to the person that tells you to make it. Not sure how anyone who collects payments from customers for repairs or installations, can remain sane after seeing that they're billed out for at least 10x what they get compensated.

Yeah, I'm moving out of my current department because people doing the same job I am in other departments are paid more than me, but my current manager swears that he's been working very hard to get us the same conditions as other departments!
And here I am near the end of the day saying “well fuck, guess I’m working late tonight to deliver this thing I promised.”

Damn this is so fucking true. I am not one for self-diagnosis but I'm appalled by how many memes from this community I relate to on a cellular level.
lol same. I've never been diagnosed with ADHD or anything like it but this community makes me think I might need to look into that
I hit my limit in college. One of the requirements for my degree was to write a 20 page paper. I put the class off until my final semester. I lived the class, but the only grades were for "class participation" and the paper 40/60). I had no problem with the participation, but I had the entire semester to write the paper. Friends, I waited until 2 days before it was due and it wasn't enough lol. It was so bad, I was embarrassed to turn it in. My teacher gave me a D on it as a favor. I'm sure many of you can also relate, that for months before the due date, I became more stressed out than I've ever been. I grew gray hairs, and developed a giant swollen taste bud right on the tip of my tongue.
But did you still technically fulfill the requirement? Because even at my worst, I still technically passed and thus never learned my lesson.
It’s horrible and stressful, but it works every time. I hate it.

Throwback to that one time I had one week to write my thesis after doing nothing all year.
Throwback to when I wrote a 23 or so pages long work about the denazification and compared it to my hometown in like one week after getting one more week from the teacher by bullshitting, that I didnt had the time to do it for the past half year.
