Donkey Kong 64 has a widescreen toggle in the options which I don't think you're using. This looks like 4:3 stretched to 16:9, you'll have a better time with real widescreen.

Rare were pretty good about this, after the first few games (Blast Corps, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie?) they started putting widescreen support in most of their N64 releases.

Yeah I'm gonna switch it, I forgot all about that option!

GoldenEye had widescreen mode too.

I always wondered, who had a widescreen TV in the 90s? I never even knew they were a thing till I saw the options in the games for them.

Banjo-Kazooie did not have widescreen but Banjo-Tooie did

Admit it, you've just been getting down to the DK Rap.

I usually do let the song play for a little bit before starting

That game seems to get picked on these days, but back when it came out my brother and I were all about it. How's it hold up?

Still a ton of fun to play but I forgot how frustrating it can be. Some janky controls but that's part of it's charm

There's a mod that lasts you switch characters instantly which makes the game a whole lot more fun

The only way to play this game is Kong barrel anywhere code, it fixes 95% of the games tedious backtracking
