Yeah, when people say it's a relaxing game, I'm like, are we playing the same game?

After the first year it is.
Not for qi quests
I think the problem is everyone feeling the need to achieve certain things like finishing the community center in a year or making a lot of money in a year by growing a ton of crops that take a ton of time to water. You don’t need to do any of that—but it sort of feels like you’re supposed to? Otherwise the game can move a bit too slow because so much content is locked behind the community center. I can’t seem to snap out of that mindset, as much as I want to
everytime i play i do the same thing
- stress out about making money
- stress out about completing the community center
- when i finally finish it, i'm too burnt out to do anything else
It's become a matter of pride to complete the community centre in the first year. It actually causes me stress if I don't manage.
I fished for a whole year. Had a bench and a little walled off area. That was nice.
I don't think I'll ever play SDV again without a time extension mod. It just gets too stressful for me.
The only mods I require are the run speed and decent sprinklers.
Run speed is indispensable, I agree.
Working through sprinklers upgrades are like the core of my objectives whenever I play, it's like going from lower to upper class with all the time you save and then do whatever you want
Freeze that time baby!! First playthru was on switch. I had no idea what i was missing out on with mods.
I hate how "Cozy" is being used as a genre because coziness is subjective. And there is an irony that SDV is hailed as THE cozy game while it has a timer and combat, which disqualify it as a cozy game nowadays.
its just the same.. so hard to manage my time irl and in stardew valley. and i havent mention about enjoying life, like just walking around
I'm totally guilty of this, but when I take a step back... I don't think there is much of a long-term time constraint. I think you can also recover from any setback. It's really a mind game in terms of whether it is relaxing or not. But if I pass out, don't let Joja know.
