Good morning, fellow sobernauts, IWNDWYT 😁!

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

Random stranger dropping in, congrats everyone for passing their first day, week, or month without drinking!

As a bit of motivation, 2 years after stopping drinking I had another beer. Eeww, it was gross. My body rejected it, and I couldn't even enjoy it. What I'm saying is it gets easier, and life gets normal again!

Make sure you focus on something else - Go for a walk in the park (however short!), sign up for a foreign language class, head to church, or download an old video game you used to play. Y'all got this!

day 19, finished 4 and 5 after 9 hours on the phone going through my life story, all harm caused all resentments fears guilt shame remorse, gone. now it's just making amends which it's highly recommended to be careful cause it may cause injury even attempting to contact some of the people on my list. but the rest of the program is smooth sailing, just prayer meditation and helping other alcoholics every day. the 12 steps genuinely work, spiritual malady overcome, I know a new freedom and happiness like I've never experienced, I'm getting what I got from drinking. absolute hype I'm on top of the world.

thanks it was seriously hard work, it's all I've been focused on for the last 3 weeks flat out. but all the promises came true, the steps are as close to a shortcut to spirituality as you can get but it's a lifelong commitment, I'm a real alcoholic of the hopeless variety so I followed the instructions and got exactly what I paid for, still can't wrap my head around it. immaculate feeling.
