/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

What if Star Trek: The Next Generation was just a mass hallucination manipulating the minds of millions of people by Professor X?

I love Picard and TNG, but loved the X-men and Xavier long long before I ever watched Trek

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And there is a official crossover that occurred long before Sir Patrick Stewart starred in the movies.

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sir Patrick was destined to play Xavier the moment that character was first drawn, McAvoy did a great job IMO but Stewart in the first X-Men movie was like watching my favorite cartoon become real life for me.

Before Picard season 1 was in production, McAvoy (not sure if he was serious) said he’d like to play a young Jean-Luc.

[–] cmbabul@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fuck it let him give it a shot, he’s talented and charismatic enough to pull it off

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 1 points 1 week ago

But what age range would this be? Can’t be a child. We already got that.

Giving yourself a physical disability in a role-playing game does sound like something Picard would do.

“He is a man of focus, commitment and sheer fucking will”

Lmfao I’m dying 🤣

I rather liked the oracle class. You could start blind, but by level 10 you have would magical sight.

See i thought we agreed all media including other star trek shows are just Riker in the Holodeck. He is always just off camera. Also anytime you're in the same area as Jonathan Franks there is a 50% chance. Your life is just another Holodeck program of William Riker.

And Jonathan Frakes is a director! He's not even hiding it all that well!

This is now my head canon

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

This would explain why the 20th Century Fox X-Men movies never quite matched the comics or cartoons. For example, Picard couldn't remember the uniform colors, so he just riffed on a variations of uniforms he knew.

Finally, something I have in common with Picard

[–] Vathsade@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is standing Picard a doll? Sorry, Action figure

[–] Lydia_K@startrek.website 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Picard is less of an action figure and more of a diplomat figure.

So he likes to fantasize about Kamala as his surrogate daughter?

EDIT: In case you forgot or were unaware, Famke Janssen played Kamala in “The Perfect Mate” as well as Jean Grey in the original X-Men trilogy.

Actually both were adventures Emperor Uriel Septim VII had in the Dreamsleeve during his death by assassins who had also murdered his three sons.

What they didn't know was that Sean Bean was still alive!

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Would you say that Sean Bean dies at the end? Is becoming a statue death? 🤔

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 1 points 1 week ago

That's why him being alive is such i big thing in the beginning

[–] radix@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And The Elder Scrolls is an epic ballad written by Gurney Halleck.

Which Gurney Halleck, Professor X or Thanos?

[–] teft@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Maybe he met Melora and was like "I want to try out some sweet wheels!!!"

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

That would be a good excuse for Masterminds as well.
