There are lots of factors other than cardinal directions. Generally it is bad if the head end of your bed is: Up against a wall that seperates your bedroom from your bathroom; Facing the door; Is below a window. It is also best if your bed is against a wall or something solid on at least one side. There are many more, but these are simple things that you can change to improve your bed placement.

What about having the head of the bed on the same wall where the window is, but not in front of it? But facing the door unfortunately. Can I put something between bed and door along the wall to stop throat energy?
Thank you so much, you are all very friendly and helpful!
Edit: typo
Regarding point 1, as long as your not sleeping with your head under a window, it's fine.
You can put something between the bed and door, but it has to be solid and cannot be moved around. Or, you can put an indoor curtain up and try to essentially split your bedroom in two, only opening the side that's not directly in front of the bed.
Thank you for the help. My current arrangement, as I described, seems to have worked so far. Thank you!
Have you tried flipping and or rotating your mattress? Getting a new mattress? Getting a new pad/spring/boxspring (or maybe rotating/flipping that)? Have you looked into your sleep hygiene and schedule?
What's a good sleep hygiene? No electronics before bed time? Does tv count? Should I read a book? But then I become engrossed in it and don't sleep.
Thank you
Edit: damn auto complete!
Avoid caffeine in the afternoon (how late depends on each person's caffeine metabolism). Don't eat within a few hours of bed. Don't drink right before bed. Go to bed at the same time every day. Try to avoid screens within an hour of bed. If you must, it should be something passive.
Doing some of those is better than none of those; not everyone can do them all. I found I was more sensitive to caffeine than I thought and that making my bedtime the same +/- 30 minutes every day made things a lot better for my sleep. I take a hot bath about an hour before bed, get into bed, put on some background music (nothing too interesting or I won't sleep), and then fall asleep pretty well.
Last night it was easier to sleep. After rearranging the layout of the bedroom, I read a bit in bed... I was able to fall asleep an hour earlier than before.
Thank you so much everybody, you've definitely helped.
Take care, and long live the fediverse!
This topic is literally the most recent video of the YouTube channel Dear Modern, which is entirely devoted to Feng shui positioning: Where to place your bed in Feng shui
Thank you, very interesting. Unfortunately the YouTuber didn't match the exact conditions of my door and window placement... Last night I changed orientation of bed head to southeast and at least I could fall asleep better. But it's on the line of sight of the door...
In fact, the YouTuber called my current arrangement the death position... 😕
Ultimately, it's up to you! You don't have to let Feng shui govern your life; it's just one philosophy out of many.
Following the YouTube video and your guidelines, I may be able to place my bed's head to the West. Is that good if it avoids the line of sight to the door, stands against a wall and I can see the window to the right?
I'll also check the mattress
Edit: clarification
It's not just directions, you need to pay attention to where the reservoirs of 阴气 and 阳气 are, as well as door ways and windows.
All rules are complicated by practice and the actual situation.
