My dragon-man... Not been a good year (or two) to be a (former)planeswalker I liked.

Still, he died being what he loved.

Impressed that the end to this one felt more in line with the rest of it all. Not too rushed or anything.

I'm just finding it harder and harder to care. Will I even make it through till return to Lorwyn? Maybe I should quit till then to check back in.

Keeping up with Severance and White Lotus.

Finished the second series of Flowers, too.

I both agree and disagree with you on 《Interior: Chinatown》, it was unsatisfying in quite a few ways. But also foreshadowed and fit enough for me to have called it from quite early on. Then about half way through figured they were doing something else with it and then it became obvious that it was in fact that again towards the end.

Liked a lot of what it did and a lot of what was going on, but yeah... Didn't quite gel and makes less sense the more you think about it.

Tap for spoilerThat it's all purgatory. But then why this genre of shows, do non-Asians keep coming back? It dilutes the overall conceit of procedural cop show from supporting case/racialised lens. Oh well.

Complicated. Big.

A collection of a wide range of geography, languages, and peoples. Held together by a mix of national pride, iron fist, and a solid record of on the whole very good for most people improvements in life quality in living memory.

Big. Brazen. Splashy. But with an inability to face problems, and a resignation to the world as is. An almost fatalistic attitude paired with naïve or blind optimism on its dexter side.

A place filled with potential, as well as already existing food, culture, history. But hard to find much of it as modernity does a speed run towards uniformity and mass production, while historical sites are rebuilt as poured concrete facsimiles.

Myanmar/Burma is more complicated than that.

The PRC also arms groups that are independent from the Tatmadaw (sp?) gov., primarily the Wa State Army.

Thailand is more direct and focused in its aid for the military dictatorship.

Although I think China has been providing much more of the air and drone weapons that the miliatry dictators have been using to punish bomb the people of the region.

Weren't the clans originally centred on one of the allied colours?

Still, useful glue guy.

We'd've missed the minority languages that pop up from time to time if it was still that rule.

The Bretton song from France in 2023 (iirc) was a banger.

Alas, very little good.

Civil war for the last few years, with China flooding the area with arms via the Wa, who've been de facto independent for a long time and the PRC's go between in the area.

Lots of ethnic groups and mostly continued interethnic violence and indepent movements for a long time. This is linked to the Rhoyinga (sp?) getting shunted into camps and pushed between countries.

Arakin Army is one of the big ones, along with the aforementioned Wa State.

China is now getting ready to send ground troops in, and set up favourable economic zones for Chinese economic imperial expansion.

Also famous for scam centres which have been the focus of Thai and Chinese authorities lately, and had been making money for criminals from those countries and paramilitary groups.

Origin Story - two people (from British print media) go into the backgrounds of terms, groups, ideologies, and people in the news.

You just say that since it was, iirc, Draco Malfoy's mum's name. So it is a JK level name.

It's not just directions, you need to pay attention to where the reservoirs of 阴气 and 阳气 are, as well as door ways and windows.

All rules are complicated by practice and the actual situation.

Didn't he only treat one of each set of twins, and used a faulty method that has been supplanted?

In addition to all the lying and manipulating the parents to get them to agree and not ask many questions.

At least as appropriate in this year as when written.

Not my favourite Moonchild Sanelly track (Gwara Gwara), but it's fun and just I love the revelling in bi-ness here.

Edit: also riffing on her older and more fun (and sexual) track Boys and Girls.

How did you all get on at your prereleases?

Looks to be a synergy set as despite opening Lumara, Maha, and almost one of each of the reanination spells in the set I went 2:1. =ł ah well.

Matched up against a fun deck blinking Head of the Homestead with the token class enchantment. Luckily it doesn't do well against Vren the Relentless.
On the other hand it turns out that Azure Beastbinder is a top tier threat, and synergy can beat power.

Still I can't complain about opening chase cards. What about all of you? Any fun interactions or moments from your prerelease?

Which decks leaving with rotation this autumn are you sad to see go?

For me there are two big ones: Rakdos Anvil and Mono-Blue Cauldron Combo.

Rakdos Anvil has been able to turn into Mardu Warleader's Anvil, which can kill out of nowhere with Ojer Axonil. It's a lot of fun to play, but yes not a tier one deck at the moment. Gets wrecked by Temporary Lockdown, unfortunately; but still does alright if not great.

Mono-Blue Cauldon Combo is, in my opinion, more consistent than the GU Culdron Combo that remains. It can be surprisingly aggressive as a plan B in case oppo is focused on disruption, and with new additions from MKM (Forensic Researcher) and OTJ (Harrier Strix) is more powerful and consistent than even. Does very well on ladder, but is a bit of a hassle to play on Arena, because infinite mana isn't handled well at all. That might be why it seems unexpected and steals a lot of wins. Doesn't actually get wrecked by Temporary Lockdown, because you can bounce it at end of turn and get all the combo pieces back and then just go off.

But what about all you other Standard Appreciaters? What decks are you sad to see go at rotation?

Jace, the Wallet Sculptor reprint (as a fox) in Bloomburrow Commander.

Anyone manage to win with either of the artifact decks (Token Resistance and Artifact or Fiction)?

The others all seem to go hugely over the top, or just trample over them each time I try to play them.

New reach effect in arena to make it very obvious.

Secret reach is now instant speed tricks only. =( (Though I've attacked into more than my share of reaching cyclops.)
