China is talking about invading Ukraine on behalf of Russia. China and Russia both have a hand in destabilizing the USA, and they've had joint naval and military exercises for decades now. China isn't "worried."
They're not officially allies but they're more allied than any two dictatorships have ever been.
China is talking about invading Ukraine on behalf of Russia.
This claim appears to contradict the OP
Diplomatic circles in Brussels said: “The inclusion of China in the “coalition of the willing” could potentially strengthen Russia’s agreement to the presence of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine.” In any case, the issue is “sensitive.”
They're trying to force a Ukrainian surrender with lots of concessions. The Chinese peacekeepers would basically be occupying the border sort of like an Eastern NATO as a method of dissuading Ukraine joining the Actual NATO or possibly even EU.
Coalition of the willing here is reference to EU peace keepers is my reading.
If China is demploying on russian side this rhetoric makes no sense. Since that would be similar to calling a cop... You had Russia problem now you got two problems China and Russia.
This is a bad read on the situation. China would be coordinating this with EU forces, not with Russia. It would make the peacekeeping forces a more varied group rather than being entirely consisting of NATO members.
You can argue about ulterior motives but you're fundamentally misunderstanding what's being reported here. China isn't coming on behalf of Russia as a counter to EU peacekeepers, they're proposing to join the EU peacekeepers so that they're not comprised solely of Russia's enemies.
It's a sign that China is stepping up globally.
China would be coordinating this with EU forces
China's is a the most important supporter of Russia in the war against Ukraine, Chinese companies are already actively investing in Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine, China's envoy for Europe openly said that former Soviet states have no independent legal status, just to name some examples. These things don't make China a good ally for Europeans.
(In the meantime, China rejected reports it will deploying a contingent to Ukraine as far as I read. But it wouldn't a good idea for Europe imho.)
Looks like we're finally stepping into WWIII.
Who could have guessed it would end up like this. Whats that? People have been yelling at the top of their lungs that our actions were taking us towards this eventuality for decades? That weakening the power of UN, NATO, EU, and USA has dire consequences and that war to end all wars was the only outcome?
