As a foreigner I think all American presidents on my lifetime have been pieces of shit and America is a hopeless hell hole. Fucking 10 corporations in a trench coat pretending to be a government.

Biden's economy was shit too, which is what made it possible for Trump to broaden his coalition so significantly.
Serious question,
are you too young to remember Obama or was he considered bad too?
I am not going to spend the next three hours explaining how Obama and that goat fucking weasel Joe Biden as his vice president made some shady deals with the party in power of my country to start a very devious and corrupt drug war. And I am not going to tell you that I was working as a field teacher at the time of that drug war, That shit got so dangerous I had to quit my job. That said drug war fixed nothing, it only kicked the hornets nest , killed a lot of people, it painted the streets red. It moved money towards a new breed of more violent drug traffickers and blocked legislations that would make drug regulation possible. and that it wasn't just in my country; Obama was a useless hypocrite neoliberal puppet, pure scum. He had the power to make a lot of positive changes and just followed the lead of the people that were really in power in America: The corporations. I am not even very versed in American policy. I'm sure There are American people out there that paid attention at the time might have an idea of how The Obama years paved the way for the trump Era.
Americans live their lives ruled by people who would rather put their balls in a vice and set that vice on fire than to pass regulations on Corporations. Meanwhile those corporations concentrate more international power and either impose or export their corruption to the rest of the world. Your politicians are bought and paid by these conglomerates, they are your government. Your democracy is a farce, your politicians spent decades dictating to the rest of the world what civility, democracy and free market should be. And the moment those concepts are an obstacle to the concentration of power of American corporations all those wishy washy ideals go out the window. America imposed neoliberalism in Latin America. killed thousands in Chile, in El Salvador, in Brazil for their little project and now they have to gall to say the rest of the world owes them everything. What a joke all this is.
I'm sick of it. I'm sick of having dumbass American politics exported to my country. I'm sick of American culture, I'm sick of being worried of who is going to be the new dumbass on power there and who is going to be demonized by their foreign policy. I'm sick that it's a black hole that wants to privatize everything. I'm sick of Sam Altman , Elon musk, Jeff Bezos and Hillary Clinton. I'm sick of the money that flows to the media on other countries outside of America to Manufacture consent and i am sick that you can't even say "FUCK AMERICA" in social media, because you fuckers are so thin skinned you can point guns to the rest of the world and can't even take an insult!
There was a joke under Obama
What’s the difference between a terrorist bunker and a children’s hospital? IDK I just fly the drone
Being better than Republicans is hardly an accomplishment but I will say that he was better, I could even say he was good for an American but that shouldn’t be confused with good
I mean considering the amount of people deported under his terms in office and the normalization of drone strikes he created I would say yeah, he was a bad president, not anywhere near as bad as Trump but still pretty bad. And that's before you get into him capitulating to the establishment of the Democratic party on things like Obama care getting heavily watered down and just in general losing his progressive edge as soon as he took office.
I remember him recieving the Nobel Peace Prize, then escalating things, lol.
I don't know if I would classify him as a POS, but I guess the bar is pretty low here. Also dunno if he was much worse than the other post-colonial leaders of the same period.
Obama is a neoliberal corporatist
Exactly this. The problems with America predate Trump and his administration. The difference is that Trump and Co. are what used to be satirical caricatures of the idea of American exceptionalism, as if taking Team America The World Police seriously.
Trump making the capitalist hellhole worse, does not make the capitalist hellhole acceptable. No matter if the presidents name was Trump, Biden, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush or Reagan.
An economy that cannot provide access to basic healthcare and education for its citzens is a failed economy, no matter how high the price tags of stocks traded by coked up psychopaths are.
If Biden or Harris were president now live would be better for millions, perhaps even billions, of people on this planet.
Both sidesing this it lazy and ineffective.
Going for the "lesser of two evils" over the past 40 years at least is what brought us to Trumps presidency. In particular Biden and Harris brought us to his second presidency, embracing the support of Dick Cheney, which is a Bush era war criminal Republican foreign invader mass murderer.
Yes i both side this. The Democrats in their current shape are a big part of the problem and they oppose getting towards a solution. Because a solution would be against the US oligarchy and the DNC is equally representing that oligarchies interests. Just the flavor of oligarchs is different between the two parties.
No people voting for Trump or sitting out elections got us a Trump presidency.
Both sidesing that fact is lazy and ineffective.
I agree, people should have challenged Biden and Harris in the primaries.
They should have voted non aligned and disrupted DNC events until a proper primary was held. The inaction in pushing the Democrats to bringing up a non genocide, non mass deportations, non economically cynical and classist towards the poor candidate was an issue. However that should not distract us from the institution that fought against getting any such candidate and instead pushed Biden until it was unbearable and then switched to Harris.
The inaction of the people was part of the problem. As the largest block was non voters, if these had went for an agreed upon third party instead, they could have made the presidential race even if the DNC kept blocking any progressive candidate.
At least now many people become fully aware of the true colors of the US empire and the evil it does to its citizens and people all over the world. Many people before deemed these acceptable under a Democratic president. Now is the chance to rebuild a proper political and economic system in the US. This is why it is so crucial to not let the Democrats off the hook either. There will be no healing in the US as long as the Republican and Democrat elites remain in power.
When Biden won the first primary the choices were Trump or Biden.
When he stepped down and Harris won the second primary the choices became Trump or Harris.
Either Biden or Harris would have been much better choices then Trump so both sidesing this is lazy and ineffective.
There wasn't a proper primary for Biden. There was no primary for Harris. She just got all the delegates pledged from Biden. And they were destined to make sure that Trump or a similiar candidate would win the 2028 election if he didn't win already in 2024. And this is a continuation of the Clinton campaign, that almost comically made sure that Trump would be the only one addressing the issues of working class Americans.
The biggest problem with reactionary progressives right now is that they want yo tear down the system without putting in the effort to rebuild a new one.
Trump is a clear and present danger to many people right now and Biden or Harris would be much better.
After they won their primaries it was a choice between them or Trump so both sidesing this situation is both lazy and ineffective.
No people voting for Trump or sitting out elections got us a Trump presidency.
This has been true for 40 years at least. Leftists pushing anti-electoralism/accelerationism are a big part of why we're in this mess and why the Overton window has been able to be dragged so far to the Right. Protest (non-)voting having any impact to improve the world is bunk and likely to some degree an idea nurtured by authoritarian state actors.
Why would people vote for a party that says it doesn't want them? Democrats are owed votes, they have to be earned. But Democrats every years try to appease "moderate" Republicans (as if that has ever actually been a thing) while telling everyone else to pound sand.
I think it's a fucking asshole for not throwing citizen Trump in a deep dark prison cell the second he stepped out of the White House.
If Biden had any balls At.All. Trump would have been in prison Jan 7th
How was Biden to do that when he wasn't president until the 20th.
If Biden had balls he'd have drone striked Trump and his Supreme Court appointments the day after the court gave the president immunity for executive actions.
Anyone who bothers paying attention knew Republicans were going to fuck our economy up. They always do. But even I am shocked at how fast it's happening.
Doesn't matter. This country is too stupid to learn from mistakes. And down the ship goes.
Less shitty != not shitty
Bad still bad. Ignoring real poverty, homelessness and struggle because "line go up" was not good. No reason to rehabilitate an imperialist billionaire loving war criminal because his successor is arguably worse in many ways.
Greatest president during Joe's presidency. We'll sorely miss anyone who is not Trump.
Don't gaslight me with some fake history.
I think genocide joe's "economy" is a huge part of why we have trump.
I still hate it. Sure, the economy under Trump is worse, but that doesn't mean the economy under Biden wasn't also terrible.
He wasn't great but he wasn't batshit crazy like Trump. Sure he should have pushed for universal healthcare, a universal income, taxing the rich more, etc.
The only advantage of Trump being this fucking nuts is America should swing left harder than ever in 2028. Maybe we can get some billionaires to pay their share and some awesome social services to catch with the planet. But that all depends if we even have an election.
Your average Republican still.blames him. That's he playbook get your people to blame the left no matter what!
Ask someone to repeat the talking point of the Republicans and then ask them about the Democrats. I bet everyone knows about woke, crime immigration and so on. The Republicans run on culture wars and anger to get more interaction like social media.
My family has been paycheck to paycheck since about 2012, nothing has changed for that. I don't care about the stock market, I care about an income for the low income people like me. No president in my life time has done that.
Trump never will, Biden could have put pressure on congress and chose not to.
I think Biden was an empty suit who personally didn't do anything while president...
And a shit ton of "moderates" from his admin and mainstream media are writing books about how true that is.
Why the fuck do so many people want to act like trumpets do with trump and just deny reality to cheer their "team" no matter what?
personally didn't do anything while president...
For a President that Magas claim didn't do anything, Trump had to spend an awful amount of time signing executive orders to undo Biden's "did nothing".
I count 76 Trump orders to undo Biden's orders just on Trump's first day:
From what I’ve read the former president actually got quite a lot done. It just didn’t get talked about as much, at least in international news.
Man, those were good days…
The only mistake Biden made was not learning the Trump trick of non stop publicity and insulting your opponent even immediately after the election.
without background & historical knowledge of our political posturing, it becomes little more than a red vs blue team sports and i bet it'll stay that away until there aren't enough people whose lives are untouched by the ghoulery to change things.
And we saw the results of that with Republicans where any flaw or mistake is ignored...
Are republican voters getting what they want out of that arrangement? Or is their blind loyalty being exploited?
Now, everyone seems to understand how that is bad...
So why do people think both parties doing that would be better?
If it's just about winning elections, why not also run a candidate that agrees with the base, then ask for people to vote for the lesser evil if it's still not what voters want?
Why start with someone far to the right of the Dem voters base?
Why meet fascists halfway? When has that ever worked out?
the "lesser evil" argument hits an absurd new low when both lesser evils options are kind-and-gentle-genocide or mask-off-genocide; yet you have people who THOROUGHLY believe that it's practical choice and are so out of touch that the denigrate people for not cooperating in the genocide.
I think rich people do rich people things and your entire class is to blame for all of this.
I miss it, I also miss Joe Biden
LOL. As if MAGA weren't allergic to rationality.
