What do they do when these giant letters start to fall? I can’t imagine it’s simple to bring them down and it would be way too dangerous for them to just fall off.

Wells Fargo has been downsizings workforce since 2016 and selling buildings, seems to me they started to remove the sign right to left, and someone photoshopped out the S. probably also removed the pulleys from the top and replaced with more sky

What makes you think these fell off. I bet they were stolen. Anyway probably the same thing that happens when a window falls or ice sheds off the sides of buildings; offer insincere condolences and let their liability insurance deal with it

Always weird when Jacksonville pops up on lemmy

But, why IS Jacksonville. It's like a bleaker, more corporate, and more southern version of Cincinnati. Every company seems to have a Jacksonville office, but i can't figure out why

It's the cheapest, largest city in Florida, situated on i95 and i10, with ports, railways, and an "international" airport. Relatively close to Tallahassee and Orlando, and has a population just shy of 1 million, with a solid amount of those being working age, even more if you consider the metropolitan area (1.7 mil). On paper it's a solid pick to establish a presence in one of the most populous states in America. There's just one problem though, it's Jacksonville lol

Fr though, Jacksonvilles alright. It gets a bad rap but there's some really nice places around town, with more popping up every day and lots of nature if that's your thing. I've been working in jax for 10 years and living here for 8. It's more of a home to me than my hometown
