Trump wouldn't ever release that information publicly and even has a personal doctor insist that he's the healthiest person ever despite being almost 80, only eating fast food, never exercising, and a well known stimulant addiction.
Trump could be on deaths door and we'd never know.
If he does die of natural causes in office though you know the reds will claim the "libs" did it.
If trump knew he was going to die he'd probably claim that he was poisoned by the democrats to at least see some more violence committed for him.

The parties do, not the people.
The people just voted for the old racist guy instead of the younger woman.
If the Dems would have had a proper primary and campaigned on defined goals instead of nebulous feelings and orange man bad, they could have won.
The weak and poorly defined platform cost them 6 swing states. They pissed off the Amish and the Arabs, which really hurt them in Pennsylvania and Michigan. They didn't campaign for the Latino voters very well, which should have been a slam dunk given the deportation platform Trump had, which impacted the swing states considerably.
The Dems need to seriously rethink their strategy for 2028 or they are going to lose again. 2026 at this point is looking shaky in both directions, so the Dems need to get their shit together immediately if they are going to stop Rep issues progressing into a 2028 victory.

The people kept electing the parties, so they must be okay with it or else they wouldn’t.
The two party system is so entrenched that voting 3rd party is a vote for the other guy that is bad. You wouldn't want to vote for the bad guy, so vote for our good guy instead of throwing away your vote on the 3rd party.
It is possible for a third party to arise in FPTP elections, but it's certainly not common or easy. The UK has a bunch; NZ had a couple before moving to MMP; I think Australia has some.
It usually requires a competent and well-known politician storming out of their party for ideological differences, but being locally popular enough to win their seat as an independent or new party.
AOC might pull it off.

The first-person statement (Melania and I) I saw was surprisingly typical of what you'd expect of someone in Washington.

Biden's support for genocide handed the presidency to Trump, and between those two things, he's enabled some of the greatest evil I've witnessed in my lifetime.
Fuck you, Biden. You made this world a worse place. The cancer in your ass doesn't make you worthy of respect or undo the giant middle finger you gave to humanity. Your only value was that you weren't Trump; take away that contrast and you're just another evil sack of shit.

Man, I'm usually one of the people on Lemmy who is, at least, defending that the Dems are not the core problem. I'm very vocal that the failure of the 2024 election was fundamentally a failure of the American people, wherein 1/3 of the country voted for fascism and 1/3 said they didn't fucking care.
But we lost by a small margin, and Biden choosing to stay in until it was clear that he could not command the confidence of the party - which was past the point when a primary could have been reasonably held - contributed no small amount to fucking us.

Man, I know I’m being naive but I truly want to believe that Biden honestly thought he had the best chance to beat Trump. Obviously he was wrong. But I just feel like he really believed that he had the best shot and trusted his gut until it was too late. It doesn’t make a difference ultimately. I just want to believe he cared genuinely about the nation and felt that the person most likely to beat Trump was the one who had already done it once before.
I shared your opinion early on, but when it came out that internal polling was showing Biden a massacre long before calls for him to drop out had become mainstream, it becomes clearer that it is at the very least immense hubris which led him forward rather than a rational-if-misguided estimation of his chances of victory.
I believe he was trusting his gut at a point where his gut was no longer worth trusting, and everyone around him could see it but he could not. A very harsh example of why there should be age maximums as well as minimums for elected office.
Edit: and I know this is dumb to bring up but I didn’t downvote your original comment. I see there’s a few downvotes there. I really value respectful conversations and try not to downvote people who I disagree with, who aren’t being harmful or hurtful.

Would have been an easy way to get our first black woman as president, if he'd won.
There's a video of Gerald Ford talking to a class of middle-schoolers, and one asks if a women will ever become president, and he says that will absolutely happen, but he doesn't think the first woman president will be elected. He felt she would be the VP, and the president would die, and she'd succeed him. After that, he didn't think it would be a problem electing a woman president.
I thought that was a pretty insightful take on the subject, and probably true.

Well, I hope the doctors have a very sterm and frank phone call with the ~~invader~~ cancer.
Call Schumer. He's always got a weak message of strength in the chamber. He'll show that cancer who's boss (it's cancer).
I wonder how many people his support of genocide killed. But we're supposed to care about him or wish him well? No. I dont think I will.
